Players praise the game's atmospheric horror design, excellent sound design, and genuinely creepy ambiance that creates an eerie, surreal experience without relying on cheap scares. However, opinions are mixed on the gameplay itself, with some finding the chase mechanics frustrating and the narrative becoming less cohesive toward the end, though the story and visuals are generally considered well-executed for an indie title.

Untangle is an independent horror experience that blends supernatural terror with a message about the consequences of bullying. Created and published by LsGameDev, the game transports players into a corrupted school environment where the line between reality and nightmare has disappeared. At the center of the story is Alisha, a gifted student whose tragic fate serves as the catalyst for the haunting events that follow. The game's premise immediately sets a somber tone, presenting a mystery that is as much about understanding human cruelty as it is about surviving an angry spirit. The setting plays a major role in shaping the experience. Schools are often remembered as places of growth and friendship, making Untangle's twisted interpretation particularly unsettling. Empty classrooms, dim corridors, and unsettling visual effects contribute to a constant sense of unease. The first-person perspective enhances immersion, forcing players to navigate every dark corner with caution. Rather than overwhelming players with nonstop scares, the game builds tension gradually, allowing its oppressive atmosphere to carry much of the experience. The result is an effective horror title that underst…1 found this helpful

you know for a solo dev this is pretty neat, the sound design is actually pretty spooky and i enjoyed the world building, i was impressed , worth the money.
i played about a third of the game. this is not my type of horror game at all getting chased by spookybois and -girls so I watched a playthrough to see the conclusion and I have to say it's very well done. quite surreal and especially the soundscape is well done. also, the simple graphics are used to great effect.
A strange game that starts off as a item hunt and enemy dodger which then becomes a really surreal, atmospheric walking simulator, and in the end it becomes stupid. Solid game regardless.
