✦ AI summary

White Silence is a short indie horror walking simulator with an atmospheric snowy village setting and occasional jump scares, but players report significant issues that undermine the experience. Common complaints include vague objective hints that lead to extensive aimless wandering, poor technical performance and optimization, non-functional audio controls, and a flashlight with limited illumination that causes eye strain. While some players appreciate the creepy atmosphere and trippy monster designs, the game's brevity, lack of polish, and design frustrations make it a frustrating experience

The game makes its intentions clear from the very start. If you play indie horror games often, you’ll feel right at home and know what to expect: a linear experience with a few jump scares and no puzzles. As so many times before, you step into the role of a random person whose car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. This time, however, the danger feels more pressing because you are stranded in the middle of a snowstorm, with no real option other than pushing forward through a road completely buried in snow. After a short walk, you come across a village where you hope to find help and some much-needed shelter. Despite lights glowing inside the houses, no one is willing to open their door. Eventually, you discover an unlocked garage containing a car that you can repair and use to escape. At the same time, you begin to notice strange, long-legged shapes moving through the snow, hinting that this is far from an ordinary village. As mentioned earlier, the experience is very straightforward and never sends you wandering aimlessly. There are no objective markers on key items, though the cursor changes slightly when hovering over interactable objects. Instead, the game guides you thro…

It's one of those games that gives you extremely vague hints of what to do next so you are running around for an hour in between each step because they can't tell you something like "Turn on the switch in the fuse box outside of the garage" they only stay: "turn on the switch" so you spend an hour running around the village and losing all your viewers in your stream. Automatic refund, waste of time lol.

The game proudly suggested me starting with 4k resolution and high details, just to run with below 30 FPS. Cool, started lowering everything until i reached low on everything and resolution of 1280X800 that i haven't seen since late 90's. Cool, now i got stable 30 FPS. Also, the volume slider is not working and the game puts automatically everything on 100%. TLRD - Steam, please stop listing the free unreal asset school projects of random teenagers as "games" here.

Just beat the game. A super scary realistic horror game placing you in a snow blizzard town where you explore cabins and discover gas mask ghosts, humanoid shadowy creatures and long legged beasts. Explore and immerse yourself in a relaxing snow town and get jump scared by scary monsters. Game is super trippy and on hell of a cool and fun experience
WHITE SILENCE
A very short indie horror walking simulator game set in a nifty blizzard! Like the synpopsis says, you wake up in a car crash during a nasty blizzard and you see some lights not too far from your crash and there, you try to find locals at a village that doesn't look what it seems to be at first! From there, you find a possible replacement jeep and it needs parts to repair it and this is where the tiny objectives comes. You go around the village and hunt for the repair parts which triggers creepy moments at each time. Once you do repair that jeep, will you finally escape?
OVERALL & RECOMMENDATION:
My only complaint would be the poor illuminated area from the flashlight. It kinda made my eyesight all fuzzy from the poor FOV it has and I had to backtrack a little in order to properly illuminate the places. This game has creepy moments during your hunt of crucial items from the objective of fixing. It is very linear and I haven't encountered any game bugs nor any technical issues. UltraWide screen format is supported too. The game is very short so you be the judge if the asking price is fine by you. At times, it kinda feels like some tech demo made …
