About Vanilla Brulee & The Rose Bandit

◆ Story
On a rainy night a few years ago, Molly, the owner of a bar, took in Hong'er, who had lost his memory.
Although he had no memories of the past, he thought that it didn't matter because he had Molly's company.
Life was happy now; even without the past, he could live a quiet life as Molly's adopted son.
--That was what Hong'er really thought until the man named Bowen came into his life.
His entanglement with Bowen, his growing acceptance of him, and the accidental revelation revealed by a mistake made in heat, everything was tied together to his past.
"Who are you? And who am I?"
A series of mysteries ensued. A mysterious bandit in the royal capital, an informer in the lower town, a nobleman's crime that could not be seen--
"--Ah, it's so sad. What will it take for you to believe me?"
"--Until you're willing to die for me."
"--Oh, that's all right, dear. If you are in danger one day, I will die for you.”

So.. This is unfortunately a shortie, that's onto me for not reading the mentioned ~55.000 words of text. Oh, well. Unlike most of the novels where I had a clear idea of what to think, over here I am swinging left & right and kinda surprised at how complicated it is or am complicating it for myself due to.. Reasons unknown to me. -> A bita disclaimer from me here, that I had only finished through one ending. I didn't bother re-reading through the original plot more than once, as I believe there wouldn't be anything that I haven't experienced besides a couple different artworks and small couples of text with different interactions and reactions. It is possible to get the general grasp of the expectations through the descriptions mentioned here, but the myself has skipped that part entirely.. And let me tell you, it made it all the better. Many of the informations that I can gather about the novel from around here would've somewhat suspended the mystery of having it all fit together, and although I wasn't in it for the mystery that isn't as vocal as one would expect with the tag, there is some without reading the basic descriptions about the novel. As I mentioned earlier, although…2 found this helpful
Welp I tried. I really did. But I can't freaking stand the characters in this one!!! I see that the translations weren't any better either! This is the fourth novel... And there is no display of any freaking improvement from your previous ones?! I call your bluff and will never throw money your way again! >.> This is madness. I just can't seem to care anymore. Good thing is... "Sub for You"... Was really awesome for me. Sure it has f-ed up translations... Far worse than this one and "WOO, WOO!"... But I liked it. I really did. This... Nah, I am done. I am tired.2 found this helpful
4 "choices", 1 cooking sequence, 2 and half scenes of going back and forth on the same slides (I guess you can suck in the sperm with your ♥♥♥♥) and a plot worse than translation. There are better novels for 1$ with free to use arts and google translate dialogues1 found this helpful
It's a wonderful love story that makes you think about it for days. I love the characters, it might be rough for some people to enjoy, but it's a game to me and I didn't take offense to any of it. Just really enjoyed the game.1 found this helpful
Vanilla Brulee & The Rose Bandit is a story-focused visual novel that blends romance, mystery, and fantasy into a surprisingly emotional adventure. Developed by Summoon 夏和淨 and BlueBerry 藍莓社 and published by PlayMeow, ACG creator, and Playmeow News, the game revolves around Hong'er, a young Omega who has no recollection of his past. Having spent years living peacefully under the care of Molly, a warm and dependable bar owner, Hong'er has accepted his memory loss as an unchangeable part of life. That fragile sense of normalcy begins to crumble when a mysterious man named Bowen enters the picture, setting in motion a chain of events that forces Hong'er to confront the secrets hidden within his forgotten history. The game's greatest strength lies in the way it balances romance with mystery. Rather than rushing into dramatic revelations, the narrative unfolds gradually, encouraging players to become emotionally invested in the characters before exposing the deeper truths behind their circumstances. Every interaction feels purposeful, and the mystery surrounding Hong'er's identity remains compelling throughout much of the experience. The story constantly raises questions about memory, …
Finally got around to playing this title after buying it awhile ago and I must say I am pleasantly surprised are how deep the story was. The translation might be on the weaker side but the story does come across as intended. I am kinda sad it ended so soon. I look forward to this developers over works.
