I feel like this is a unique enough twist on Portal to be worth your time, however I did find the game a bit mechanically weak, and did not struggle very much with the test chambers I played. I was also a bit put off by the lack of personality in general with this game. FULL VIDEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8034hVuaQw2 found this helpful
okay so i don't hate the idea of something being inspired by portal. puzzle platformers are some of my favorite types of games to play and i've had my eyes on this for a while especially knowing it's made by the same person who did blue portals. that's genuinely always been one of my favorite portal mods ever the problem is, from the screenshots it looks like it's just portal but with a slightly different gun mechanic rather than straight up copying the portals. and now that i've actually played through what's called the "crash course" levels, it's just portal. and again, portal inspired games are definitely something i look for. valve struck gold with portal 1 and 2. but in the state it's in, cyclone is JUST a portal clone effectively. the game goes for the style portal 1 had with the more polished, non hl2-based asset look of portal 2 visually. and gameplay wise, the cyclone was an interesting mechanic for like. the first few chapters only. portals in terms of gameplay had something that no other game had done before because it was new. it brought new gameplay opportunities and puzzles because no one had seen anything like it when the first game, and to an extent the second game…
please continue this, it has so much potential
Basically a Portal fan-game, and pretty cool one :) What can I say, it works pretty well, loading times are almost non-existent, its not buggy and doesn't crash :) Game ramps up the difficulty gradually, so if you pay attention, you probably won't get stuck at anything. After few levels I got bored of the monotonous bland white aesthetic, some more variety in environment as you progress would be a nice reward for the player :)
I'm about a half hour into this game, and so far it's been really fun! It takes the familiar style of the Portal games and puts a unique twist on it. So it feels familiar, but not like a clone. The puzzles start off pretty forgiving, introducing you to new mechanics as you go, allowing you time to settle in and figure out how the different mechanics can combine to solve each room. Then the difficulty kicks in. At the moment, I'm stuck in a very tall, vertical room that I *know* I'll get through. Eventually. Just gotta coax my brain to figure it out. Anyways, Cyclone is relaxing and challenging in equal measure. A great combo at my advancing age :p
Amazing concept of a Portal-esque puzzle action game, with something different from Portal.
