I enjoyed the game.

Ancient Weapon Holly is an action roguelite developed by ACQUIRE Corp. and published by Aniplex Inc. together with ACQUIRE. The game presents a dark fantasy premise centered on a powerful ancient weapon that has been sealed away for thousands of years after wreaking devastation during a past war. Players control Holly, a mysterious girl-like entity who awakens deep within a labyrinth after a long period of imprisonment. Despite her innocent appearance, Holly is actually a destructive relic of war created by humanity itself. When she regains consciousness, she discovers that the world above has continued without her, and the bitterness of her confinement fuels a new goal—to climb through the dungeon, return to the surface, and unleash her vengeance upon humanity. Enjoyable

This game is an unusual one, but I do like what it has in it. It's a dungeon crawler where the goal is to find and destroy a few enemy spawners while protecting your own base from incoming enemies. If you succeed, you move to the next floor, and if you fail, you go back a floor, but you keep all of your upgrades from the skill tree. It can be frustrating at times, especially towards the end where it gets tougher, but the main idea is solid enough to make it enjoyable for a few afternoon sessions. This almost felt like a rogue-lite because of the uphill progression, though you don't start over from the very beginning. It has aspects of tower defense gameplay, where you can set traps and build protection around your base, and if there's another entry I'd love to see that fleshed out more. Solid 7/10, I enjoyed the gameplay though it did get frustrating at times, especially with the limited amount of full heals near the end. Worth playing if you can get it on sale and have a few hours to kill.

This is a very short game. (There are 10 floors "Main-Story" and 100 extra mode for those who like to get more milage out of it) It should be noted like others reviews have stated level 2 weapon is the best version and level 3 sucks.

[b]Revenge justified...?[/b] + interesting genre choice + controls responsive (most of the time) + story basic but its ok + many things to consider while fighting against enemies (knowing their weakness) + graphics is pretty much ok + much effects + many choices to beat enemies, while staying safe + anime look (always wins) + brute forces punishes you in later levels + tutorial for everything + tacitcal choices +/- difficulty can be challenging (you are punished pretty hard) +/- short but at times difficult (you can die rather quick if you dont pay attention) - low replayability - controls sometimes not responsive - OST is pretty lackluster - pretty much basic questions while playing were never answered Conclusion: A pretty nice, but short game. Game genre choice is rather interesting, but gameplay is not that engaging after a while. While the game is short, it came pretty hard at times. Nonetheless all its price worth.
