About Fantasy Zoo
What if a powerful wizard wanted to build a zoo for all kinds of different fantasy animals? Build your own zoo for many unique creatures. Instead of normal animals like elephants or lions, fill the zoo with monsters like dragons and griffins.
30 Different animals from mythology and pop culture fantasy. Build a good enclosure for each animal according to their requirements. Animals can have different quirks which can make it hard to keep them safely, such as dragon’s fiery breath or basilisk’s petrifying gaze.

I really would love to give this game a positive rating as it is a great concept and very interestingly done, and close to the Zoo Tycoon games plus the magical animals are a nice change, HOWEVER this game unfortunately is one buggy mess. Like, most of my creatures, weak or strong, escape the second I put down any gate, even very strong, heavy gates, or they don`t initially, but certainly will start escaping at some point later. Often times they also randomly escape through very strong barriers for some reason (NOT flying away, just walking through the fence), and lastly, and worst of all, recently all of my workers in one of my zoos lost their sanity altogether and went completely haywire; one of my goblin workers just started randomly attacking my rats when he was supposed to clean their enclosure and refill their food which he did do before without any issues, whilst most of the other workers simultaniously started experiencing some kind of long-term seizure which made them completely unable to walk anywhere to perform tasks (in large enclosures with more than enough space to walk). ALSO, most of the big, more aggressive creatures simply cannot be taken care of at all, as any go…2 found this helpful
So this game is pretty glitchy - animals are forever getting stuck and not going to eat, drink etc even when the suitable elements are there in the enclosure. (If you pick them up and set them down again, they go straight to it.) I'm also a bit confused by the guests. They never seem to be happy no matter what. There are loads of animals to view, but their entertainment levels never seem to go up? It's also not very intuitive to figure out what each animal needs. They have varying enclosure size requirements - small, medium or large - but the game doesn't give any indication as to what constitutes each size. How many squares on the grid is small, medium, or large? All of that said, the game is very cute, and it's fun to play. I'm going to keep it in the hope that the devs are still updating, as a few bug fixes and adjustments to guests etc would go a long way to elevate this game from like to love.1 found this helpful
So, I will preface this with, I did enjoy this game for what it is, it's a zoo tycoon-type game with a premise I've been wanting to see for years upon years. It has a strong basis for that concept in a lot of places, but it does suffer from a lot, buggy zoo employee AI, a lot of enclosure design lacks depth and the terrain itself costs way too much to change, research also lacks a lot of more interesting elements. Basically, the game has a lot of interesting base ideas but as it stands it feels more like a prototype proof-of-concept rather than a complete game.
this game is very addicting & fun! my first of this style & loved it very much! if you enjoy this type of game &/or fantasy creatures i def recommend you give it a try!
This is a cute enough and simple enough game to recommend. I feel it's worth the full price to just throw towards the devs for scratching an itch that's easier than Planet Zoo with a magic twist. I have more to unlock but I've enjoyed myself and will play again. The UI can be seen as clunky maybe but it doesn't really discourage me at all. If you're on the fence, try the demo.
Ellietendo's Review Of Fantasy Zoo
I received a free copy of this game for review purposes. I used a mouse & keyboard combo for gameplay.
Pros:

Zoo Sim – Playing a game where you create your own Zoo is already a fun concept, when you add that with a “Fantasy” theme, it makes this game way more interesting!
Customizable Gameplay - There are so many ways to play this game, having the option to choose either traditional or sandbox is great. There’s no pressure to play a certain way, I like the freedom.
Joyful Music – Whilst the Zoo can sometimes be slow paced, one thing that keeps me going is surprisingly the in-game music! It’s so catchy; I’ll have to find it somehow online to have on loop!
Solo Developer – It’s always nice to support a solo/indie developer when it comes to games. I’m really impressed with the quality of everything, especially more so considering that it was an individual; this genuinely looks like a team made this game.

Cons:

Weak Quests – I’ll admit, the Quests were the least fun part of “Fantasy Zoo”, I’m mindful that this is a gameplay preference and not “T…
