I contemplated getting this due to other reviews/language issues and then I remembered... I've read worse and had a great time, so why not try it out? Except... I actually ended up liking it. o.O So to confirm what was overly stated several times: yes, the English isn't perfect and some words will hide behind the character's sprite (Not often!). Can you understand it? Yes. Yes you can. If you speak English well enough? You will be able not only to *understand* what they meant to say... You will eventually succumb to the messiness of it all and it will become almost natural. Almost. There are times I was like "WHAT?" and anytime the character went "Woo... Woo..." I couldn't stop chuckling. Don't get me started on "slurping with chirping noises". LMAO! Anyway, the characters are fine. As in... They look damn good. I enjoyed "Kat's" sprite the most. I honestly didn't expect much more than a cute and sexy story playing around with dom/sub dynamics. Turns out, there's quite a bit more going on here. What starts off pretty light quickly develops into a surprisingly thoughtful story about unresolved trauma, self-acceptance, and learning to come to terms with yourself. There's even a genuinely sweet love story in there, if you manage to get the good ending. The plot is well put together, the art is delicate and pleasant, and the whole thing is nicely presented. The writing can be a little rough in places (possibly because of the translation), and I could definitely have lived without the Ace Attorney-style sound effects every time an important dialogue came up. There's also a kidnapping scene early on that was a little too much for me, but aside from that, I really enjoyed the direction the story took. A surprisingly heartfelt little VN. I came for the kink and accidentally got feelings... how dare you???

It was fun experience! I am not a fan of bdsm in my yaoi but the way an author showed growing trust through tutelages is amazing, and you could see live how it actually helps mc with his trauma!! Wow! Since I started reading it, it kept me glued to the screen until the very end. Writing this review as an act of supporting this game! Besides not-so-perfect English translation and inconsistency in artstyle of npc sprites, my main complaint is that you can't romance mc's friend!!!!! Like he's soo fine! I know there's another game about him in development so I'll eagerly wait for it.

Better than GTA6

Was apprehensive going into this one but it was surprisingly nuanced, at least in the route I chose (apart from a very bad event closer to the beginning which the MC had to be rescued from, which was a bit upsetting). It felt like the writers did some amount of research on safer BDSM practices. The love interest character was very careful and respectful of consent for most of the scenes, and urged the MC to seek therapy as well to help with his issues. The MC did make a lot of mistakes but they kinda made sense for a total newbie to make.
