Floops Big House Adventure

Floops Big House Adventure is an isometric Shooter wrapped in the nostalgic look of 90s cartoons. Remember 'Cow & Chicken' or 'Rockos Modern Life'? This game seeks to bring that visual style into the modern age via a surprisingly difficult game. We play as the titular Floop, a bean-shaped entity whose house has been invaded by monsters. Our mean, green boy is taking none of that as he whips out the ole Snubnosed revolver. So starts the epic battle of expelling these unwanted roommates, one brass freedom seed at a time. That is the extent of the story. From then on out, you try to get your hands on any weapon you may find. A rubber chicken that fires iron nails? Check. Some sock you found that ejects deadly lint at your foes? Check. Me trying to spell without a grammar checker? Wreck. The first thing you'll have to get used to is that you can only shoot to the left or to your right. There is no vertical or diagonal aiming here, though it can be worked around by weapons that spread projectiles. There are few things more reliable than a bazooka that fires several rockets at once. Game aesthetic is there, but game is tough as nails. You basically start out from level 0, work your way up and every couple of rounds you get a moneybag to take out that when you finish off your opponents you get to upgrade. Some of the upgrades are humorous, but in general it can be kind of puzzling trying to associate what image implies what power. I got the game because it looked interesting and I guess in that regard it is slightly deceptive as while that can be true to a degree, if you get killed from your 4 taco lifespan, that's it. No level options, no continue, no nothing. Menu UI is a little deceptive as well because there's no contrast in what you select, simply animations, which if you're trying to pick an option quickly, well, you are going to have to second guess. In general for $5 not the end of the world but the replay value is slightly limited when you don't really have options to progress. It's just a fun little whoozy game.

Grreaaat first game by the devs, artwork and animations are fun. I could see many spinoffs using the existing artwork.

Need proper mouse controls for firing, turn mouse left - character face left, mouse right - face right, left click to fire and kbm controls WASD for moving as well as rebinding controls. Hard to use keyboard to play. No, don't want use controller, kbm only. Sorry for bad english, i'm still learning. Been mths and still no proper controls, can't recommend this game

AAAAAAAAHHHH Real Monsters. That's what this reminds me of more than anything. It's a pretty fun game that takes less than an hour to finish. You'll fight waves of enemies, a boss, and then head onto a new level. If you die you'll have to start from the beginning. The gameplay loop is pretty fun and very easy to pick up. There are some difficulties with avoiding certain attacks from bosses and enemies due to the hit box of your character. It's not a huge problem, but there were plenty of times I felt like I was out of range of an attack just to get hit. Or enemies get so close to you that your attacks can't hit them and you're stuck in this perpetual game of cat and mouse until you take the hit or slow them down with an obstacle. Weapons feel good, with a fairly decent variety available. Picking up weapons will replace your current weapon, and each weapon has their own stat. If you go into the store you'll be able to pick up a stat upgrade that carries over to new weapons. Thing is, you don't know what the items you buy will do. At least not until you buy them the first time. You'll have to remember it after that, which is a mixed feeling experience for me. In the en…
