Tough Love Arena

Great art style, and despite the simple controls there's actually quite a bit of depth. This really is one of the best designed simplified fighting games, and you can even play it for free in the browser with your friends (I played that version a lot before the Steam release). If you like 2D fighting games at all, you should really give this game a look.

lemon

Core fundamentals are all there, probably one of the best introductory to the fighting game genre, visual clarity and everything. Been playing for 5 years, have 10K games played. Keeps the rust off while not being a time sink or requiring learning 20 characters and frame data setups.

heheh ahsdnf yeah infinite loop garlic (shhh dont tell anyone)_

fun and simple fighting game that's easy to get into but does not lack depth

Gameplay and netcode are perfect. It's super charming, well balanced, easy to get into, and fairly addictive once you start piecing the slow neutral/in depth interactions together. The only real complaint I have is that the UI tends to bug out with an arcade stick plugged in. It isn't anything that's prevented me from playing it's just a bit annoying to have the UI flicker at you lol. Highly recommended.
