✦ AI summary

Kingsvein is a tactical RPG that combines Final Fantasy Tactics-style combat with exploration and puzzle-solving elements, earning strong praise from fans of the genre who appreciate its tight scope, class-based progression, and environmental interaction mechanics. However, some players find the battle system opaque and frustrating, citing unclear enemy intentions and difficulty spikes even on lower difficulties, which can discourage those seeking clearer feedback during combat.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I found the game a frustrating and confusing experience. Hopefully I'm not missing anything obvious, but I cannot see enemy skill or intention, every turn I am shocked by what the enemy throws at me. Initially I misunderstood how the skillset/levelling up works so I even restarted the game to be mindful of experience and yet I was still losing every battle on the lowest difficulty. I liked the floor puzzle that I managed to play but have since completely lost interest to continue. It's a shame as I like dragons and the pixel art.

It's cool and has interesting stuff going on but it's no Horizon's Gate. If you haven't played that go do so and come back to this one for more.

Solo Dev mixing the tactical battles of, well Final Fantasy Tactics, with exploration and puzzle solving reminiscent of Golden Sun. Story ran me about 33 hours, and there are a good selection of mods to expand the content with more dungeons and items. If you liked FFT, it's worth the 20 bucks.
