About PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY
PATAPON is an action adventure where players use the rhythm of 4 Mystical Drums to command cute and mysterious eyeball-like creatures known as Patapons.
All Patapons have unique characteristics and classes (jobs) such as the Hatapon who stands in the center of the squadron waving its flag and leading its allies, the Tatepon who protects others with its large shield, and the Yumipon who attacks by shooting arrows. The role of each Patapon during battle varies with their class, allowing you to create a unique and well-rounded army to take on the various challenges that await!
As the player, you are the God of the Patapons and lead them on a grand adventure to Earthend!

Patapons can be made or enhanced using various items. On top of that, even stronger Patapons can be created by gathering materials from stages and minigames. The game contains 400 weapons and equipment to enhance and upgrade your Patapons!
Customize your army to your heart’s content and create a one-of-a-kind squadron to take on the various enemies and challenges this game has to offer!

While the original game elements remain unchanged, new support features have been added for a more enjoyable gaming experience!

One of the few reviews I will say no only because: switch controller implementation is half baked. ABXY layout works correctly in all menus but in game AB and XY are swapped!! The rest of the game clearly picks up the swapped Nintendo layout but the actual gameplay doesn't? How does this happen with so many games. Please fix so I can play correctly and so right isnt down, and left isn't up1 found this helpful
PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY revives two remarkably unconventional games whose mixture of rhythm, strategy, action, and role-playing mechanics still feels distinctive years after their original appearances. Developed by SAS CO.,LTD. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., the collection combines PATAPON and PATAPON 2 into one package, allowing players to experience the beginnings and subsequent expansion of the series. Rather than controlling a traditional hero directly, the player becomes a deity worshipped by the Patapon tribe and must guide these peculiar one-eyed warriors on their long journey toward the legendary Earthend. It is a wonderfully strange premise, but the unusual method of commanding the tribe is what gives the collection its lasting personality. Commands are delivered through four sacred drums, with different rhythmic combinations telling the Patapons to march, attack, defend, or perform other actions. Learning these patterns is straightforward, yet maintaining them while reacting to enemies becomes increasingly challenging. I have played these games before, some 2 decades ago in the late 2000s on my PSP-3000. I loved and cherished this game; it is definitely one of THE games you needed to play exclusive to the PSP and quite frankly I didn't even know they made a remake and a port to PC until it randomly popped up on my Steam page. It is such a beloved creative piece of artwork that you can feel was infused with somebody's soul as they were creating it; the imaginery Patapon language, the war chants, and the simplistic art style... It was certainly a standout and fit in much with the games that Japanese Studios created.1 found this helpful
