King's Blade

I'm honestly shocked this game doesn't have as much buzz around it; it's partially the reason why I'm writing this more detailed review. To get to the point though, I'd give this game a 9/10. What I liked about the game: The controls feel nice, The art style and direction are both phenomenal and consistent all the way through, all the levels feel like standout levels with their own unique enemies and a boss battle at the end with a total of 10 levels and 2 secret levels, its extremely satisfying to take down a hoard right in front of you when you learn how to chain combos to keep enemies up in the air, and on top of all that its only $9. There isn't too much depth in terms of the attack combos(you aren't getting combos as in depth as you would in Tekken/Street Fighter/Mortal Combat combos), but it's honestly okay. At its core, finishing off hoards of enemies super satisfying. Now what I would criticize about the game: I feel like it's too short for how fun it is. I would genuinely have payed a higher pricepoint for more levels, but at a $9 pricepoint the amount of content is reasonable and the game feels like its meant to be replayed which is what I'll be doing o…

Great fun. Spicy, even on Easy towards the end. Only played the campaiign with the wizard so far, so now onto the other characters.

Recently, beat ‘em up games have been making a comeback, and King’s Blade is exactly that. Inspired (according to the developers) by the Conan the Barbarian saga, with an intriguing art style and solid music, the game takes me 30 years back to the days when I was trying to squeeze a coin out of my parents to play Cadillacs & Dinosaurs.
