About Kingsblade: King's Keep Prologue

Kingsblade: Next-Gen Escape's mobile hack 'n slash platformer! Leap across peril! Deal with dastardly rats! Break the bones of skeletons! Save the Princess!

(This indirect prologue to Next-Gen Escape's King's Keep Escape Room is spoilers-free and adds to the story behind the escape room. It is not necessary to play King's Keep to enjoy this game.)

In Kingsblade, players take on the titular role and try to save Princess Ariana from the foul dungeon beneath the capital city. You'll encounter vicious rats, and toiling skeleton guards as you venture further in the dungeon... And find a most dangerous foe in the bottom chamber...

Jump over danger and slash at your foes! You are the Kingsblade!

"Kingsblade: King's Keep Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Kings Blade" (I guess?). Kings Blade isn't even a finished or available product... yes, this is an advertisement for a product you can't buy. Very much a waste of everyone's time. And even if it was something you could buy... it's just another of literally thousands of garbage 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam. I guess the almost zero reception this got was enough to deter the developer from committing more crimes against the quality of video games. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Kings Blade, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Kingsblade: King's Keep Prologue" too. This is only free in the same way th…

Overall, this was an enjoyable game. If I could change one thing about this game it would be the length, but I really do enjoy the difficulty and the controls are odd but tolerable.

Those spikes be brutal. I loved Noita, this is just the same "Ski Free" like repetitive endless die game. I enjoy the added save flame that gives you a buffer, so i felt comfortable playing it on the go and not losing 2 hours of progress because I itched my eye for 2 seconds. The simple game play is brought to be challenging but doable. The Mario like skill needed for movement combined with the short attack range and lethal opponents becomes very satisfying. Small things like timing when to jump down on a opponent become important. Fighting two sword throwers when your movement is restricted by several spikes in a cavern become fun because of how surprisingly challenging of a puzzle it is combined with having some skill with timing all your movements and attacks. Played fine on the steam deck, would recommend for a free game.
