Gameplay
a single-line visual novel set in an post-apocalyptic world. As the first chapter in the series: the Sea Mist chapter, the entire episode is estimated to be 4-5 hours. We have tried to bring you a different experience with 300+ storyboard and carefully selected sound effects and music.
Story
I don't believe there is a place that can be called home anymore. But she says she wants to go, so we'll go.
I don't rely on hope, but since hope has come to me, there is no reason to let it fly away so easily.
The caution required for survival, the future that my lover expects, I can't let go of any of it.
In the fall of 2050, nearly a decade after an AI crisis ended, the Bates and two others are trying to find their last hope, Ocean City. The shortage of supplies and the threat of zombies have already made things difficult for them, and the appearance of a band of bandits has added to their woes. But the Bateses will use everything around them to gain an advantage and make themselves the true villains.

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Reboot is a Chinese-only post-apocalyptic visual novel with a Terminator-style premise set in 2050, featuring decent character art and a short 4-5 hour story. The main barrier to enjoyment is the complete lack of English translation, which severely limits accessibility for non-Chinese speakers. Players note that the game offers an external 18+ patch with improved explicit artwork, but the language barrier and uneven art quality make it a difficult recommendation except for those fluent in Chinese or willing to play without understanding the narrative.
Reboot — Achievements: 16 total | Steam Deck: Unknown (Valve: Indeterminate)

TL;DR: Chinese-only post-apocalyptic VN (2050) with machines-vs-humans vibes (Terminator-ish), plus zombies and hostile survivors. Art is decent but uneven; an external patch unlocks more mature scenes with noticeably better-looking explicit art. Recommended only on sale, and mainly if you’re okay playing without translation.
Reboot is a Chinese visual novel that comes with a built-in obstacle: it’s not translated. So the first “difficulty” is simply understanding what’s going on. Story-wise, it’s set around 2050 in a post-apocalyptic world after a machine crisis (very Terminator-flavored). You follow a small group of survivors trying to navigate a ruined world where threats come from multiple angles: machines, zombies, and other survivors who are not exactly friendly. The overall plot isn’t mind-blowing, but it’s serviceable. The problem is that without translation, the narrative impact gets dulled unless you’re comfortable with Chinese or you’re just following the vibe. Visually, the art is decent, sometimes really nice — including some striking black-and-white pieces with …
