Shovelware

A simple, fun game that reminds of me of my favourite browser games as a kid! It has some fun optional challenges for each level to get more trophies and there are some cool gimmicks in there. The controls and mechanics are pretty intuitive but I wish there was a little in-game tutorial or something in the menu to tell you how to play the game. A friend gifted this to me but I'd say it's worth the price!

Just charged through cardboard and wood leagues (the first 20 levels) and got all the easy trophies from them (except 2 :( ), and this is pretty fun! It needs just the right amount of concentration to be slightly addicting and just beyond a zone-out game. Lots of levels, with several different gimmicks so far, and a variety of secondary goals. I'm impressed how many levels there appear to be! For a simple game like this, literally called "Shovelware", I would have expected it to also be real short. There are even a bunch of unlockable cosmetics to customize your little hero, which are a fun touch. Cutscenes are short and lightly humorous, and I realized eventually that you can skip them with Escape. (Useful when retrying a boss level to get the optional goals!) A couple of the mechanics are hard to figure out, such as when blocks fall slowly or quickly or how contiguous blocks of gems only count as 1 gem, and there is no explanation of the controls. Fortunately, the controls are pretty intuitive, and you don't _have_ to understand the block mechanics at first to get through things (at least on easy). Great game to just relax and let the autism kick in. Enjoyable levels and bosses with plenty of customizability.

Game has simple rules but challenging to finish. Having three different goals helps a lot. Good and proper time waster. Note, on steamdeck I had to choose proton 7.6 (default doesn't render text)
