Kijutsu Rider is praised for its flashy, fast-paced combat with stylish interrupts and strong anime-inspired presentation that shows clear passion from its developer, with fans appreciating the momentum-driven mechanics and satisfying visual spectacle. However, players consistently criticize the game for feeling janky and unpolished even after patches, with bland level design, repetitive encounters, and core combat that feels overly simplistic and unrewarding, alongside technical issues like audio sync problems and low-quality UI that make it feel incomplete for its early access state.

I wish I could recommend this game since it's dripping with passion from its developer and at least trying to carve a niche in terms of combat flow. I do think the constant movement and sliding while taking your attack type into account to counter enemies is a really solid setup, and the meter system has just enough uses to make choices matter with it. It is FUN to do your strings and fly across the screen getting a big PUNISH, BREAK, etc. The character design is pretty strong and uses heavy shading in a way not many games are while also having fun choreography in cutscene fights. But even with three patches the game is just rough. The stages are bland corridors with nothing going on between enclosed encounters, enemies either get comboed to death or don't even interrupt their attack animations while being launched, the style meter seems vestigial and can drop from A or S to D on a dime, bosses force you away to dodge finnicky projectile barrages as you attempt to dash around them to get a Light Attack Punish, and I closed the game after being softlocked via being trapped in a combat arena after beating it twice in the same encounter. I also genuinely don't like the dialogue to the…

As of august 22 2026, this game cant be recommened. It's unfished, i cant get over jank and even seeing this is clearly a first game (and its a great start for a frst game) i cant get past how easy it is to get stuck or hw diffcult to get style, see enemies or even how in cutscenes you can see things that you shoudnt be able to see. The game seems to be still getting updates and a lot of the ideas and even bones are good but the msucles on the bone are barely on, its like a bunch of lose wet spegetti just kind dropping on the bones. I hope with some more patches i can come back and give the game a thumbs up.

I'm going to be honest with you. Kijutsu Rider is a rough game from a developer who is, to my knowledge, releasing this as his first ever game. However - that doesn't mean it has no soul, or love put into it. The developer is an awesome person who responds to bug reports and errors in the game by actually improving the game and fixing what's wrong. Compared to release, Kijutsu Rider is a far better experience than I would have expected, and I had a LOT of fun going through the game - even if it does get a bit difficult at times and the graphics are somewhat janky. The game is, at it's core, a fun, loving project that takes inspiration from both Kamen Rider and the freestyle gameplay of Devil May Cry. I will recommend this game no matter what, and it sits in my personal top 10.

Its janky, repetitive in a non fun way and its boring. The game looks like a school project or tech demo. As a Rider fan its extra disappointing because we don't get games.

Although its rough, I had a lot of fun with it! The storyline and the way the character's backstories (and the backstories themselves) are presented is really fun and welldone. I also like all the funny references to memes and other media. This is a very creative and fun spin on Kamen Rider and the tokusatsu genre. Also, its awesome that the creator is taking everyone's criticisms and suggestions to make the game better, I definitely think it has improved a lot since launch. Kijutsu Rider 2 when???

this game feels too simple its not interesting it might change later down the line but currently the combat feels too simple and it does not feel good to play it feels cheap too cheap and despite it being early access the potential of it getting better does not interest me since what it has on display is not worth any kind of money currently. Edit: this game is still too early to even feel functional most sounds in general are off sync and the visual basic and buggy. The UI looks low quality and adding a style meter that doesn't really matter because it doesn't really incentivize creative play since as stated previously the combat in its most basic form does not feel fun to play with.
