About Dire Echo
Along the way, command contacts you with an additional request — retrieve documents from the research vessel "Echo-7", which recently went silent. The silence is attributed to a recent geomagnetic storm disrupting communications.
As you approach Echo-7, you attempt to contact the crew — but there’s no response. The ship appears functional from the outside. Inside — nothing.
No welcoming party, no signs of life. Just empty corridors, scattered personal belongings, and the unsettling feeling that you're not alone.
Key Features🎥 Realistic graphics — visual fidelity enhances the feeling of unease🌫️ Haunting atmosphere — silence, isolation, and growing tension follow your every step🎧 Immersive sound — rich audio design pulls you deep into the experience

What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the atmospheric space-setting and immersive minimalist design that effectively builds tension, though opinions sharply divide on execution. Common complaints center on overreliance on jump scares that feel cheap and predictable, poor AI-generated voice acting that breaks immersion, awkward level design with excessive hallways, and a very short runtime (around 1.5 hours) that feels padded by obtuse puzzle design requiring specific sequences of actions. Some appreciate the unique concept and want more content, while others feel the game lacks respect for player time and compare it
You are an unnamed astronaut pilot sent to investigate what happened to a space station that has gone dark. Once there, you find it in working order, but with nobody around, as if everyone vanished into thin air. But as you walk through the corridors with a flashlight that only sends its light far enough ahead to make you feel uncomfortable walking toward the darkness, you start realizing that there is something else here, and not just bodies of crew members. The game is all about giving you a nice and short experience that rests everything on atmosphere. It starts with slightly curved corners around the screen, giving you the feeling that you are observing the environment through an astronaut helmet, and continues with a linear path where you observe details and events. To maintain the immersion, there are no visual hints or waypoints, so you need to pay attention to your surroundings and look for something interesting. Most of the time, you will see some source of light or something else trying to catch your attention and invite you to investigate. This will often lead to a screen, button, switch, or useful item, and you will notice the interactivity when you move the dot in t…3 found this helpful
Seriously, what is this? It started off great with excellent graphic. It could have kept going—why did you end it like that? The game would have been so much better if there had at least been multiple endings. You built up the atmosphere, yet it ends so anticlimactically—without a single fight or chase sequence? I am side-eyeing you so hard right now, developer.2 found this helpful
(Disclosure: I received a free key from the developer.) Dire Echo is a surprisingly immersive space‑walking horror experience that hooked me from start to finish. The atmosphere is strong, the tension builds naturally, and the game delivers some solid jumpscares without relying on cheap tricks. One of the things I appreciated most is the minimalist design — there’s no HUD, no inventory, and no journal entries, which actually makes the experience feel more isolating and realistic. You’re out there with nothing but the environment, the audio, and your own instincts, and it works really well for the tone the game is going for. The space‑walking segments are a standout, giving you that eerie, weightless feeling while still keeping you on edge. The story is unique and engaging, with enough mystery to keep you invested in what’s happening and why. Overall, I enjoyed the game a lot. It’s atmospheric, tense, and memorable, with a cool sci‑fi horror concept and a minimalist approach that enhances the immersion. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy space‑based horror with a clean, uncluttered experience.1 found this helpful
great graphics and easy to handle with great jumpscares good job creaters
I have tried on this game three separate times. I cannot in good conscious suggest this game. It is a walking simulator. I am a person who tries to see the good in a game and, tries to tell creators what they can do to make a project stand out. That being said, there is very little that can redeem this game. I would loosely call it a game, it is really just a walking simulator. The graphics are nice but most everything else about his project is lacking. The good: The graphics are great. There are some areas in the game that genuinely make you feel like you are looking at footage of a abandoned spaceship. The bad: The audio is not good. The audio sounds very muddy and almost like it is echoed over itself. The Devs treat scary and EXTREMELY LOUD like they are the same thing. (I played the game on 14 audio and there were still areas that were deafeningly loud.) The game is also too dark, there is no reason that the game should be this dark. Even when you restore the lights your flashlight is still brighter than most of the lights in the hallways. The text staying on the screen and ignoring all of the things that are happening. If the text is supposed to be the character's monolog…
Wow I was reading bad opinions about this game but I thought I am easily satisfied normally (especially by indies) and I got it anyways....but I was wrong. It's not even that the game has flaws, that is normal for every game, but in this one it seems who made it, did something on purpose to actually annoy the player. -subtitles are persistent for whatever reason, or a random subtitle starts spawning on screen -I am sure you need subtitles because voice logs otherwise are mute (I think it's about the whole AI voices complaints...I guess they removed the voiceovers?) -the interaction points are as big as a couple pixels....you have to move crates or open doors...good luck finding the actual spot that accepts the interaction input -every is blurry as hell, no way to tone it down, basically you don't see anything after a couple meters -same goes for the flashlight: useless, the beam stops after a couple meters It's just corridors and pressing a button sometimes and seeing some ghost or monster for a fraction of a second (and blurry, since normally they are far from you). I know the game was free for a few days and is very cheap....but come on... I was intrigued by the dark space sc…
