What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the game's beautiful visuals, emotional storytelling, and accessibility for Thomas the Tank Engine fans new to train sims, with some finding it a great shared experience. Common complaints include performance stuttering, concerns about the current limited content (only two railway lines available), questions about game mechanics like engine summoning, and worry that the game feels overpriced given the extensive work needed to add other railway branches and characters promised in the full vision.
Disappointing, honestly. 5 trains to choose from, of the like 100 in the universe. Oh but you can add on James! ....for 25$. No Toby, no Henry, no Edward, no Diesel 10, no Mavis, no Cranky...can't fly Harold, can't sail Bullstrode or Captain, no Terrance. Nothing. I just feel like they lacked imagination from the get go, limiting themselves to basically a reskin of trainsim. You get this view into the world, but are stuck viewing it from the rails. Adding a few streets and blocks in the cities to explore and a bit more freedom going around would have taken this game from a 5 to a 10. To be able to drive Bertie from one station to another, or fly Harold, or take sail with Captain or Bullstrode. Use Cranky. That being said, the stories are great. I just wish they had shot for "Thomas & Friends : WONDERS OF SODOR" and not "Thomas and 4 of his friends : ride several of the rails", because the limited game that they did aim for is actually quite nice.6 found this helpful
I really don't like this game. too laggy, and most of the time I don't know what I'm even doing. I'm better off just buying some other game.1 found this helpful
it's awesome it let's you relive your child hood and mess with trains 5 stars
A very fun and simple train sim that will delight any fan of the series, just needs more content though, it's VERY lacklustre right now.
I really enjoyed this game and everything about it aside from 2 things the shunting puzzles and the way the railway series collectibles were done. I honestly wish the books were in spots where certain events happened in them because I think that would be funny but it's not that bad. This game is still good
It is a fun game targeted towards anyone who has nostalgia for the old Thomas series as kids. The game does still have it's bugs that will hopefully get fixed in the near future, but it's honestly just a fun game to mess around in.
