Astro Burn

Astro Burn is a nicely entertaining short game that is quite stunning visually, while boasting some absolute incredible music. It has the vibes of the classic short arcade-style game similar to Full Metal Slug on a far smaller scale where you progress forward from left to right or top-down at times! The story is absolutely cute and quite sad at the end (no spoiling it for the audience). The bosses are quite entertaining and have an array of abilities, while you also have an array of abilities that you obtain and can temporarily use. The game ran very smoothly on the whole by the way and I love the imperfect elements to it as they give the sense of an actual game made by an actual person :). You will definitely see where those moments are when you play and it may leave you smiling like it did for me!

[h1]Runs great on Steam Deck, and SteamOS[/h1] Astro Burn answers the question, 'What would happen if game developers took LSD, ate magic mushrooms and THEN licked psychedelic toads? I'm not sure of the true chain of events, but it's produced a shoot-em-up platformer with [b]CUTENESS OVERLOAD[/b]. Each level is packed with adorable animal encounters, like Panda's riding mechs and rainbow unicrons, squirrels that will trample you and ducks that taunt you. It's exciting to beat each boss, to find out what new murderous but cute animal will kill you next. I genuinely don't want to finish though, as I don't want to reach the end. Please consider new levels in a DLC! The experience is indescribable. Words cannot do it justice. Just try the demo, and you'll be hooked.

A great game, but unpolished product with the devs ghosting the players. Nobody ever answered in discussions here or on mine sending a bug report. The only time I saw devs commenting was in a negative review, so I'm deliberately turning off comments for this one. Maybe this will incentivize the devs start answering in the discussions and fixing the bugs. It seems like they fixed everything except for the achievements, which is great news! I'm gladly changing this review to positive 🎉

Very fun game we need more levels and lore, love the music and kitty personality <3 I haven't asked my cat to play or watch the cat games though, will give an update later.

Only 90 minutes in, but this game is living up to the hype so far! * No technical issues on the Steam Deck * Protip: always pick colorful mode; black and white is for quitters * CRT masterrace * Beautiful graphics and cute characters I wasn't really sure what to expect for a story. It's quick and sweet; doesn't feel like something that's as** big of a focus for the devs. But that's overridden by the fire soundtrack and fun mechanics. I've never really cared about beat-em-up games, but [b] cute-em-up absolutely lives up to its naming!! [/b] The game is cute, the weapons are hilarious to combo, and I feel a sense of accomplishment getting through [strike] bullet [/strike] cute hell. Can't wait to see how the game evolves, especially once I get my friends playing co-op!

As someone who grew up on Jetpack Joyride and a new cat mom this is LITERALLY the game I've been searching for. My new procrastination for sure XD It's also only £7 which is basically a fiver which is basically free so why not??
