Shard Squad

[b]SHARD SQUAD[/b], is a creature collector bullet hell and heaven fusion that focuses far more on the bullet hell aspect. The game features a Teamfight Tactics-style trait mechanic that is fun to play with but doesn't change your builds that drastically. The lore is actually quite interesting, and each creature has their own life, and personality that you can find out but collecting lore notes. The game however, is very slow with characters feeling extremely sluggish. Be prepared to crawl around the battlefield 90% of the time. Meta-progression is very grindy, and not that impactful. This is definitely a game I wish I could give a neutral. The art is cute, the characters are unique, but that slow factor really hurts the game. The new super evolutions are actually quite fun, and brings are far better balance to the runs. Enemies are also very tanky for the majority of the game and runs which just adds to that slow factor. Sluggish movement around the map and kitting enemies for super long just didn't quite make an exciting experience. I like the game. It's super fun killing off little things.

Like vampire survivors, but less chaotic and with more combos between characters, each character have their own unique traits and story, it is clear a lot of love was put into it, all in all a pretty solid, fun and addicting game.

This is a no for me. I've played 40 Bullet Hells and this one is not fun. (It's "fine" but I'd never call it fun.) Even with Movement upgrades you're still slow (without Move it's just painful) and it has the trap so many of these games fall into: your Meta progression is 1% stuff in many cases. If it's not the 1% type, then it costs 10x more. It's not a poorly designed game except that it's slooooowwwwwww.

As much as I wanna be nice, I can't be here. It's very slow, you move slow, your attacks are slow, the cooldowns are high, the alt weapons (other Shards you choose during the run) fire off at random and generally not very usefully, and you're just basically grinding a win in each stage on each character to get more gold to get more metaprogress. Yes, there's a ton of trinkets, but you can only ever hold 2 at a time even though a HUGE majority of them feel like they ought to just be metaupgrades that you can toggle on and off (like, really, having 1 pet and 1 thing that activates every 50ish seconds versus a flat 40%+ more damage for the whole run, or the weird gimmick trinkets that just cause 1 instance of damage every 50 seconds, like... why would I ever take those outside of being able to enable them as autocasts when they get unlocked? That goes for the strange passive-stack stones, too, those do next to nothing unless you SPECIFICALLY want to stack those things, and if you do the flat-damage trinkets, you just won't, because those stacks are just fun gimmicks outside of the elemental ones.).
