Kaamos: Puzzle Roguelike is a turn-based puzzle roguelike where you battle enemies by matching colored tiles on a looping grid while building unique character loadouts from over 180 weapons, armor, and rings. Face off against opponents whose moves you can see in advance as you navigate a dark medieval world shrouded in eternal night, solving the mystery of the missing Sun.
Face hostile opponents in duels to the death where you see enemy actions in advance. Match tiles of the same color on a grid where dragging a row or column loops it back on the other side in order to counter the incoming onslaught of enemy attacks. Stab, crush and cleave your way to victory.Equip powerful weapons, armor, and rings to change your tactics and tile selection for battles. Want to be a dual-wielding berserker, an evasive duelist, or a knight clad in heavy armor? With over 180 items there are interesting build choices and playstyles for every player.Navigate a randomly generated dark medieval world filled with madness. Unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the Sun or fade into the darkness. You are not alone. There’s always something lurking in the dark behind every fork in the path.

Kaamos: Puzzle Roguelike is a match-3 roguelike with an appealing spooky aesthetic and addictive core mechanics, but players are divided on its longevity and difficulty balance. Common complaints center on steep difficulty spikes after the early game, heavy RNG dependency, lack of meaningful progression between runs, and limited viable strategies, which frustrates those seeking more agency. Most agree it's worth experiencing for its elegant design, though some feel it shows its full content after a single playthrough.
I tried so hard to enjoy this but I hated this game. Limited agency, no way to improve your guy between runs, limited gear options (all of which are underwhelming or just bad), heavily RNG based (at its core), steep difficulty curve after the 1st boss which severely limits the already near-zero amount of viable strategies. Some of these reviews are saying they beat his game on the first run and I have no idea how. Frustratingly difficult and tedious.3 found this helpful
Kaamos is a cool idea with poor implementation. Fights are long and tedious, gameplay is almost identical between runs, and it never innovates upon the base gameplay loop it built. Beating one run took me 2.5 hours, but for the life of me I cannot tell you one interesting moment from any of those just over two hours, because there were none. I wish I could say more about it, but I don't think it even has enough substance for to criticize it further. If I hadn't gotten this in a bundle, I'd feel upset at having paid for this, and as much as I feel bad for saying that: It's the truth.1 found this helpful
