A Night Duty

A Night Duty is an indie psychological horror title that demonstrates how an ordinary setting can become deeply unsettling when paired with a strong narrative foundation. Developed and published by Achimphang Studio, the game transports players into the role of a military officer tasked with enduring a late-night assignment inside a South Korean military facility. What begins as a routine patrol gradually evolves into an unnerving journey filled with unexplained events, hidden truths, and a lingering sense that something is terribly wrong. Rather than relying exclusively on loud scares, the game builds its identity through atmosphere and the constant discomfort of knowing that every corner might conceal another anomaly. The gameplay revolves around careful observation. Thanks for a really good game. Got me in my feels though. The meaning behind this anomaly observation indie horror game is deep. It's a dark story. But a respectful ode to what I theorize is a reflection of the developers' experience and a exposition on how Asians in asian culture are not supposed to address Mental Health. Warning: Topics of potentially triggering anomalies throughout this game. https://youtu.be/Tz2NcxrZBSQ

Honestly, i was thinking about leaving a bad review for this one, but somehow i was entertained enough to keep playing until i saw all anomalies. You can see my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/Wn_QlCv3ouI

Another great game! https://youtu.be/_h7niUbPzJ0

Instead of your typical spot the anomaly type setup, you go through the corridor with a flashlight and after walking through the corridor the first time, you have to use the flashlight on literally every single thing in the hallway to make a small box appear, which you then have the option of checking off if it is an anomaly. The problem is... EVERYTHING IS WRITTEN IN KOREAN. The other problem is... EVERYTHING HAS ITS OWN CHECKOFF BOX. So for example, something written on the wall... one letter in Korean could be off, and you just missed the anomaly. This concept is absolute crap, and so is this game. Rating: 0/10
