Causal Loop

Nice game is really fun to play with all the puzzles. If you don't have good space awareness, it can be tricky, especially in the last stages. Advice: include a simple map

Pros: - Good pacing, never felt like a section was dragging on and new mechanics were introduced gradually - Varied puzzles - Great environment/art design - Story is engaging - The characters grew on me quite a bit, and the voice actor performances were great. Bale is a bit annoying at the start, but I think it serves a narrative purpose as he grows and gets less annoying throughout the story - Runs well, had one bug (clipped into a slope and got stuck) but wasn't able to replicate it and had no other issues Cons: - Some of the timing based puzzles are very strict, would be nice to have an option to extend time limits for things like buttons a bit - The symbols can be difficult to differentiate, which gets especially difficult in later levels when things are more spread out, it can be hard to find what a button even activated. Could maybe benefit from waypoints to things that activated out of view, and/or having numbers or something next to the symbols to tell them apart more easily - The jump is frustratingly short My complaints only became a problem in the final quarter of the game and were pretty minor, but still enough to create friction. A game based entirely on annoying mechanics, and somehow works. Clearly inspired by Talos Principle's ever-hated recorder puzzles, this game's primary mechanic is recording yourself so that there is more than one of you. Yet, for the majority of the chapters, this is completely unused for anything but opening the exit once the puzzle is already solved. Instead, the majority of the puzzles are a game of hot-potato with explosives which, for some reason, the recording cannot interact with in any capacity. Basically, they gutted the recording mechanic so that it cannot do anything other than press buttons, and as a result, avoid all the annoying overcomplicated aspects of the puzzles in Talos Principle. Level design here is quite.... confusing. Much of the navigation is through teleporters and the connections between puzzle elements are signage-based. This means much of the difficulty comes from figuring out what two (or more) items are linked together. Usually I would spend about ten minutes just finding the first step. Of course, once you put the pieces together, the puzzle feels rewarding to solve, and this actually gets better in the final chapters. Pros: Everything looks amaz…

Absolutely stunning graphics and overall design! Lots of fun to play while figuring stuff out. Mostly impressed by the Echo Mechanic and how it works. 10/10 would recommend!

This game is an incredible achievement for such a small development team. Every feature of this game appears as if it is made by a large group of developers. Great graphics, good puzzle mechanics, strong level design, good story and dialog. One of the best puzzle games released in recent times.

I picked up Causal Loop on a whim. It's one of those games that's easy to understand but keeps introducing new mechanics just when you think you've figured everything out. The puzzles are clever without feeling unfair, and there's a real "aha!" moment when you finally see how everything fits together. I also appreciated that the game doesn't overexplain itself. It trusts the player to experiment and learn. If you enjoy puzzle games that make you think and reward curiosity, Causal Loop is definitely worth your time. Looking forward to seeing what the developers create next.
