[h1]Like Portal without portals[/h1] [b]Gameplay[/b] This is one of those games with a hide meaning that unlocks itself at the end of the gameplay so at the start you are given a short cinematic that sets the universe and part of what is happening and why, but after finishing one level you will be given another flashback identified by the game as a piece of a [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1496140285]cube[/url] that will be filled with each found piece at the end of every level but this pieces can be also identified as memories that pulled together makes a longer and stable one, waiting you to reveal all the secrets from the main character past. The game is completely singleplayer so there is no interaction with other players at all, just with you and most of the time with a delayed version of yourself that repeats every single action that you do to reach your destination. Instead of portals we have some transparent doors that after going through they activate the next door that they are connected to so as you are imaging already, the game basically ask you to manage to reach one level after another being challenged by a few doors but this gets more …

I was sceptical about playing Echoplex at first, considering this is a game that I wouldn't normally play. But I pushed through and got it since one of my friends wouldn't shut up about it. I got through the first level and I was pretty much hooked. Some parts of the game made me rage, like how unfair and irritating the drones are "Why you bully me!?", or when I make stupid mistakes like running into one of my Echos later down the line. If I'm being honest I didn't really understand the underlying story. But the game was enjoyable regardless of the absence of a decent story-line. 10/10 would recommend. Great success.

I wasn't impressed by this game what so ever. I like the concept but i think it wasn't done well, what so ever. The controls are really clunky and I just didn't feel like I understood enough about the game.. it's clearly inspired by portal 2, but watered down to the point of blandness. It brings nothing new to the table. The whole concept of the game is to retrieve memoires, I understand that. But I think that this was poorly conveyed and I felt clueless for most of it. Visually, the game seemed a bit half arsed. There’s minimalism and then there's simplification. this game was neither. it just doesn't look too good. The Ai drone and the spawn room are detailed with realistic textures. Everything else is flat colours. There other hallways look nice as well. Just the flat colours, completely ruins the vibe of the game . I’ve played loads of games that look awful but have really good game play, but the game play wasn't able to redeem this. I tried to get a refund, but was refused because I had played 5 hours of it. i tried my best to stick it out and give the game a chance, but the whole confidingness about the game didn't make the game play any better. It's simply a game with so much potential but wasted with awful drone mechanics. Nerf them and its a 8/10.

I was liking the game, however there's a few things that I absolutely dislike. For one, you can set the volume of the cutscene all you want, however when a cutscene plays, I swear the game throws it back up to 100%. I have that stupid slider set to 20% and I still have to take my headphones off so I'm not blasted away. The volume of the SFX is inconsistent, especially surrounding the drones. I have the SFX slider set to somewhere like 40%, and I can barely hear the little sound that the drones make, but BOY CAN I HEAR the sound of when their lasers hit a wall. I also dislike the fact that you can't set the Y-Axis to be inverted. I play nearly every game with the Y-Axis inverted, but this game doesn't have any sort of option for that. I checked. Would I recommend this game? Maybe for the first 9 levels, sure, but between the SFX being all wonky, the cutscenes not inheriting the proper volume and there not being a way to invert the Y-Axis, I would say to not bother.

Its a shame i got to level 23 and figured out how to do the level but I just can't, I even checked a walkthrough that showed I was doing it right so after an hour of repeated attempts at the level even using the walkthrough and still not being able to pass that level I have to give this game a negative review it had a few other little things like one time the game crashed when I won and died at the same time and 1-2 times it didn't reset enemy's when I reset the level other than that I actually had liked the game its a shame that the copy's don't function like they should on that level
