[strike] This is a recommendation, but a tentative one. [/strike] Scratch that. In hindsight, after fully writing this review, I can’t bring myself to recommend this game. I wanted to, I really did, but I just can’t. Read on to find out why. So, Forensics: Crime Scene Detective. Or as I like to call it “Where The F**k Is That Last F**king Fingerprint Simulator 2026”. This game starts out promising. The tutorials show you how to use your various tools, gathering evidence at the crime scene and then analysing it back at the lab. And then, you get to the missions, and find out that, barring the layout of the room, they’re all the EXACT. SAME. F**KING. THING. Go to crime scene. Open tool case. Take out UV Light. Search around room for obvious evidence when scanning every vaguely flat surface with the UV Light for the 5 million fingerprints you need. Return to tool case. Put away UV Light. Take out Evidence Markers. Go around to every single piece of evidence you found, including the 5 million fingerprints and mark them. Each one. Individually. Yes, you have to mark each fingerprint separately. Return to tool case. Put away Evidence Markers. Take out Camera. Go around to every …

The most accurate forensics game I've ever played which is refreshing when a lot of games have such unrealistic ideas of how forensics work. I've seen some of the negative comments talking about how there's not enough deduction or investigation but that's not the job of a forensic scientist/specialist, their job is to collect and analyse evidence and then pass it to the investigators to use. I've managed to rack up 12.5 hours in two days on this game and the only disappointing thing so far is that I wish there were more cases, which considering there's already 14 is a really good sign that this game is great.

feels a lot like phasmophobia used to without the ghosts killing you. runs smoothly, keeps you thinking. would love to see a co-op mode in the future- my friend and i play simultaneously while on a call and do the jobs together. solid game for chill evenings.

Not perfect, but the closest to what i have always wanted in a detective game.

SO MANY BUGS I CAN'T MOVE TO ANOTHER LEVEL

I think that the game is fun in the beginning to learn the mechanics and stuff. However, I think it becomes pedantic. Like there was one part where a piece of evidence was in a really obscure place [spoiler] for example the one where you are investigating the red car, there's 2 finger prints on top of the roof of the car that's really hard to see. Also another piece of evidence is not within the evidence area [/spoiler] and It's like how am I supposed to see these? Idk. I think like also its kind of boring that we are not actually figuring out the mystery. We are just putting together evidence and someone is like "o yeah this is what happened". Idk maybe if you like just the simulator aspect its fine, but I thought there was more to it.
