Dominocalypse

There are a lot of intricate mechanics- but because of that, there are some insane combos you can pull off. If you spend a little bit of time just trying a bunch of things out to understand the systems- without worrying about how successful it will be- it pays off a ton on your future runs. If you "lab" a little bit in this game, as you would in a fighting game, it sets you up for success in the same kind of way. You'll learn the different "engages," "counters" and "combos" to put it in fighting game terms, as you add to your brain's tool chest of moves to conquer each board. Tons of fun, crazy combos, SICK soundtrack and sfx, INCREDILBLY SATISFYING "Number go up" game, and an awesome skill ceiling to master.

I intended to open the game up for maybe 20 minutes, just to briefly check it out. As you can see, that didn't exactly happen. The game is really fun and complex, as of now I haven't been able to get further than 2-1, but it's clear it has a *lot* of depth in the design which is awesome. I likely would've played for longer if not for the fact that it started running at like 2 fps for seemingly no reason, as the game doesn't look to be that demanding. This is, as of now, my only gripe with the game; I had a different bug earlier that had the game locked in the "tile mod config" mode (when you select/rotate the mod of a tile). Hoping things like these can get fixed soon, the game released recently so it's to be expected that some things will just slip through the cracks

It's a brain-burner. It's really tough at first but it grows on you and you are rewarded for being curious and persevering. Lots of stuff to unlock and interactions to discover. Plus I like the clicky domino sounds :)

Fun game! A bit like a dominos version of Balatro. It's very technical in how you have to play. You can come up with some crazy combos but it can take a while to understand exactly how things interact with each other. Starting out it is very hard until you understand how all the modifiers work, but when it does work it feels great! My only real criticism is that adding modifiers feels a bit clunky? Holding X or Z while scrolling and hitting A and D to change directions is a few too many inputs to juggle at once, and resulted in me placing very incorrect tiles a few times.

Good rogue lite puzzler, lots of possibilities for big number combos and builds

From the overwhelming amount of roguelikes that have been released this is one that has stood out to me. While definitely difficult at first it rewards strategy and thought provoking combos and synergies. It has some of the addictive properties that Balatro has from its simple and groovy soundtrack to the satisfying click of your 30th domino matching and seeing the score reach over a billion.
