Orbit One

A cautious thumbs-up, but I have stopped playing for now. I've only played for an hour, and really enjoyed it up until the end of the tutorial. After that, you are asked to do a rendezvous. I've done enough rendezvous in Kerbal that I still get nightmares involving the little widget. But that game at least had a playful interface... In this game, you're asked to do it using text fields, entering prograde, normal and radial delta-vs by hand (or scrolling up/down with the mouse). There's nothing to help you other than two sets of numbers, the goal being to make them match as closely as possible. The dreaded "this orbit, or next orbit, or the orbit after that, or..." is handled with two buttons (you can guess what they are). A typical rendezvous will require a number of these manoeuvres, so that adds up to a lot of "fun." There are 3D graphics going on the background, but they aren't much use when you are interacting using text boxes. The fun part about Kerbal rendezvous was what happened when you got within 10km. Getting there was tiresome and repetitive. This game has automated the fun part (within 10km), and left the dull part for you to do. Given orbital ren…

I get that N-Body physics is hard on compute but this game is fundamentally buggy at release. The core function of orbital mechanics is broken

I am a Kerbal space program fan. Compared to KSP this game is less vehicle centric and I think its fine. Its still a bit crude but it has potential. Few comment: Even if the game is less focused on the rocket I would like to have a deeper vehicle builder. Visual that reflect the actual shape of the rocket would be nice to. The game seem to be entirely pre scriped mission. There is no generic satellite launch. No playload to launch in the sandbox mode and more importantly no incitative to optimize your launcher. Without these Launcher design is a tad boring. Longer construction time for bigger rocket might be enough, but I think adding money too would be better. The game need delta-V per stage. A way simulate playload mass during design. Smaller engine for last stage (atm lander/satellite are the last stage). I am sure those will come in time. Atm there is few bug. The most annoying is the trajectory bug. I am not sure if its the N-body or the orbital decay. Either way trajectory prediction should be more accurate and orbital decay should be slower (or have a automated reboost function to counter it).
