About 1000$

1000$ – a first-person horror where you are supposed to rob a house. The main character is a young guy who decides to upgrade his computer due to the release of some new interesting games. However, he has to get 1,000 dollars somewhere to buy the required hardware. So he decides to rob a house where an old lady lives. But what he doesn’t know yet is that the lady always has a gun with her and doesn’t sleep at night.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. EVEN AS A JOKE. The game itself is a typical crappy "horror" game with clunky mechanics and awful movement and sound design. However, the music is excruciatingly grating and you CANNOT ALTER THE VOLUME AT ALL. It's a loop of this "spooky ambience" and its genuinely like torture to play for like over 10 minutes. Also, the NPC who's supposedly an "old woman" looks more like Dominic Toretto from The Fast and Furious, and follows 1 track that can easily be predicted run by run. On top of this, the NPC is VERY aware of where you are 90% of the time, often times seeing you the closet door through the kitchen somehow? But also somehow blind enough to not see you if you stand on the other side of one specific open door. To reiterate, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

I'm playing Steam games in alphabetical order and you can watch my review here: https://youtu.be/F98dnLySPIg Prefer to read? 1000$ fails at the first hurdle by putting the $ after the number instead of before it. It also fails by having a broken launcher where the only graphical setting is "ULTRA", and no in-game menu, to the point where pressing ESC mid-game caused the UI to vanish. If you still decide to play the game after reading that, this is a basic stealth game where you enter a house and attempt to steal all the cash that is laying around while avoiding an incredibly restless trigger-happy elderly lady that never sleeps. Mechanically, it's "fine" but lacking almost anything that gives a good horror game it's tension, there's zero replayability, and only one level. I think the price is fair for what's on offer, but that's like being asked to pay for a bag of stale chips: Yes it's probably a fair price but I still don't want it.

This game sucks ass. NPC on sentry mode 24/7, generic stacks of cash in drawers and nothing else. Terrible pixel/blur filter, with no built-in option to disable. Not very thrilling gameplay. dont pay the A$1.50 for this game.

Watched a tiniest bit dragged-out intro where nothing happens, bounced around looking at a blurry pixel mess of a garden and found out that someone had successfully nicked the basketball before us (:<), spent a couple minutes trying to figure out how to open the door, finally went inside (through the door), insolently rubbed against some faceless dude (house owner?) for a good half of a minute, did a few circles around him, and then he finally deigned to shoot me. 12/10, some horror. P.s. the exit menu font ain't styled right - barely any pixelation.
