Gameplay: 8/10

Graphics & Sound: 10/10

Narration: 8/10
✔️ Beautiful drawn graphics with a smart mix between 2D and 3D and minimalist animation. ✔️ Cool music! ✔️ Fun and diverse characters, with unique designs. ✔️ Interesting and varied while not overly complex mini games, with fun interaction modes and somewhat of a big importance given to sound and music. 💭 I got stuck at some point because I didn't manage to understand how to progress in the story. It was dumb of me, but the game didn't nudge me in the right direction either. Had to look for a playthrough. 💭 There isn't a whole lot of depth in the narration - it's fun and entertaining, but mostly cool vibes than things to ponder. ❌A few minor glitches, nothing huge, but had to reload the game a pair of times to get unstuck. Cool game to pour a few hours into, a short put complete and entertaining experience. I recommend it to anyone :)1 found this helpful
30 Bird’s colorful plumage deservedly takes front and center, but the gameplay can feel just a little bit feather-light. Biggest positives: + A very loose adaptation of ‘The Conference of the Birds.’ The source material gives the game a robust world and well-developed mythology + The glittering, kaleidoscopic color palette is very visually dynamic – much like the game’s namesake Other notes: - Some puzzles are so impenetrably alien in design that it is difficult to grasp them at all ~ Interactions are never a hassle, but they never feel particularly ‘smooth’ either Full review: https://toothbrush.blog/review/30-birds/1 found this helpful
Beautiful, creative and inventive indie gem. Must play if you like narrative puzzle-adventures.
I don’t know of any other game that I play/like that doesn’t support Steam Cloud. So goodbye to hours of progress from Steam Deck after repairs. No recommendation if you expect basics like save game backup or sync.
30 Birds is a charming narrative adventure developed by Ram Ram Games and Business Goose Studios and published by ARTE France. Set within a magical world inspired by Middle Eastern folklore, art, and storytelling traditions, the game offers an experience that feels refreshingly different from most contemporary adventure titles. Rather than relying on dramatic action sequences or complex gameplay systems, it focuses on exploration, character interaction, and a captivating mystery wrapped inside one of the most visually distinctive worlds seen in recent indie gaming. Players step into the shoes of Zig, a curious young detective who finds herself drawn into an unusual case involving the disappearance of the legendary bird goddess Simurgh. To uncover the truth behind the mystery, she must locate thirty missing birds scattered throughout a vibrant city full of secrets. This simple premise serves as the foundation for a surprisingly engaging narrative that gradually expands into a tale about friendship, creativity, community, and the power of stories. The writing maintains a lighthearted tone while still providing enough intrigue to keep players invested in discovering what happened to …
It's insane how under the radar this game has gone. The style it has is so unique and incredible. The gameplay is a bit lacking-- it's a simple enough adventure game with some cool minigames tacked in-- but the art is fantastic and makes it worth playing. The story isn't half bad either, though it didn't surprise me any during my brief 4.5 hour playthrough. It's mostly just a good adventure that's easy to play and beautiful to look at. Well worth an afternoon, especially when it's on sale for less than $10
