30 Days to be the Best - Ultimate Edition

I lost all my motivation to to play 30 Days to be the Best after 36 minutes of game play. The control is bad. The game is boring.

For a game about becoming the greatest fighter within 30 days, 30 Days to be the Best has surprisingly little to work towards on Steam. There are no Steam achievements or Trading Cards, despite having plenty of obvious milestones involving training, improving your skills, winning fights and reaching the end of your limited time. The fighting itself can also feel repetitive, while the time-management mechanics don't always feel deep enough to make every decision particularly meaningful. The concept is interesting and the story has some dark humour, but the game feels like a small experimental project rather than a fully polished fighting RPG.

30 Days to be the Best - Ultimate Edition is an eccentric combination of 3D fighting, action RPG progression, character management, and dark comedy that builds its entire campaign around an unusually severe deadline. The protagonist has dreamed of becoming the greatest fighter in the world, only to discover that he has brain cancer and approximately thirty days left to live. Rather than surrendering his ambition, he dedicates his remaining time to climbing the ranks of Fighting Spirit and proving himself against increasingly dangerous opponents. It is a grim premise presented with an intentionally absurd personality, creating an experience that is difficult to confuse with a conventional fighting game. Developed and published by Nuskadamo, the game uses its thirty-day limitation as both a narrative foundation and a gameplay mechanic. The player cannot simply train forever or endlessly accumulate improvements before facing the next challenge. Time becomes a resource that must be considered alongside the protagonist's health, abilities, and combat readiness. "30 Days to be the Best - Ultimate Edition" is a very poorly made 3D rendered "versus" game... well, Virtua Fighting, this is not. The graphics and gameplay are laughably bad, as is the peak player count. At least it seems to be genuinely made... unfortunately good intentions alone are not enough. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded.
