About 486
GET THE HIGH SCORE....HOWEVER YOU CAN.
486(pronounced four eighty-six )\ is a retro-styled permadeath arcade RPG that throws you into an unfriendly city and lets you figure out how to get the Global High Score. It's like warping back to 1994 with all the gaming knowledge of today.
(Why does it look like this? Because the entire game was programmed in QB64!)

1) The goal is simple: Get the Global High Score.
What makes it unique is how you go about that. You could drink at the bar to gain rep, go dance at BEAT BEAT EVOLUTION, compete in Tag Arena or beat up everyone you run into. Entirely up to you. Yes, the SCORES ARE GLOBAL so challenge your buddies across the country!
2)Time is always against you. You constantly need energy to maintain top speed and food / supplies to stay alive.
3)Get REP or get DED. Rep is your leveling system and allows you access to new areas and makes you stronger.
4)Travel wisely. The world is full of dangers, travel smart and well prepared.
Stores with X over the doors mean they are not accessible.

This is the game ever. I have had this game on my wish-list for many years, yet I haven't been able to buy it because my REP (presumably short for reputation) and cash have simply been too low. Once this game went on sale for 24% off... I knew this was my chance. This game allowed me to experience all of the joys of life through the lens of a white cube. I experienced joy, sorrow, growing old, and throwing darts all from my home computer. For this, I am grateful. Thank you for changing my life forever with the game 486, Jared. I will fight many rounds in the robot riot to earn enough cash to gift this game to all of my friends and loved ones. My only complaints are the lack of controller support, the lack of VR support, and the persistent dungeon noises after I am released from jail.1 found this helpful
This game is one of those you buy by accident, download occasionally and launch by miss click. I have no Idea how to describe experience from 486. You move your character (white box) in locations made in pretty and minimalistic ASCII style. Sometimes you get random encounters and fight weird 3D models of humans using one button. From these fights and some side activities you earn exp and money which can be used to buy items recovering health and stamina, vehicles to move faster and weapons to fight better. There are plenty of areas you can visit. Each of them has different difficulty of enemies and buildings you can enter to play minigames, buy something and so on. And... I don't know what to say here. This game looks and sounds like sh*tpost, but still somewhy from time to time I redownload it to enjoy ASCII picture and strange atmosphere. It is definitely not something you will play on daily, weekly or even monthly basis, but there actually IS something in this project. Worth bying? If you like such strange and conceptual stuff - YES1 found this helpful
This reminds me of ZZT. And that's a positive.
Basically the life of a square on a tough neighborhood. You get to play darts, go to the gym and fight random people on the street. Not fun enough though.
No it's worse than advertise fight me
Hilarious trashy game. Bad, but in a good way.
