About Action Legion
Action Legion is a mouse-controlled, single-player war game on the PC and Mac with comparable similarities to classics such as Cannon Fodder. Fight your way through waves of enemies using an array of weapons, destroy enemy structures and bases, and defeat tough boss fights in this classical single-player epic!
In Action Legion, you step in to the role of a Legion Captain. Start your planetary invasion and defeat the evil forces of the infamous Prognati, who have been wreaking havoc and causing torment to the local, peaceful tribes of the planet PN MDCVIII. Once a luscious paradise, now stripped of its original beauty and turned into an enslaved mining dystopy by the Prognati, your mission is to rid the planet and its people of the Prognati menace, once and for all!

Viewed from an angled, top-down perspective, the game takes place in a futuristic, sci-fi setting. Players control a squad of one or more soldiers of the renowned Legion, who have been sent to planet PN MDCVIII. Their goal to liberate the indigenous population from the evil forces of the infamous Prognati. Players will need to complete many, very short, quickfire missions. These take place on unique small-sized maps, that grow in comple…14 found this helpful
Do not buy this game if you have an ultra-wide monitor (mine is 3440x1440). At startup you'll be able to create a profile, but the start button will be off-screen so you will not be able to start a game. And as far as I can tell there is no way to get to any options menu to change the resolution.3 found this helpful
35 levels levels ranging from 2 minutes to 10-12 minutes to complete. I prefered using a controller even though the game mentions at the start that it is designed for a mouse. A good little game when picked up on sale2 found this helpful
TL:DR: A solid top-down shooter; fun but not without flaws. IMO, this is one of those games that make me wish Steam had a neutral recommendation between thumbs-up and thumbs-down. I generally enjoy top-down shooters and Action Legion is no exception but there are some things about it that could use some work. There are a lot of positive aspects to this game, making it a pretty solid entry in the top-down shooter genre. I'm not going to go into detail here as others have already covered this more thoroughly than I would. However, I would like to cover the elements of the game that I believe could be improved. To me, the biggest flaw in Action Legion is the control scheme. At first, I tried the recommended mouse-only controls, which I found to be an interesting and unique approach, but felt that it was making the game unnecessarily difficult. I then switched to the mouse-and-keyboard control scheme, which was definitely an improvement. However, movement and aiming felt really sloppy and the camera seemed to wobble around in a disorienting manner. Also, I discovered that the game would default back to the mouse-only setting whenever I quit so it has to be changed agai…1 found this helpful
Kinda like the old Cannon Fodder but some levels become too difficult. Can't save mid level and can't split squad.
Awesome. The closest i've found to Cannon Fodder and the Tiny Troopers games. Easy to lose a few hours and hard to put down.
