What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise Adventuring Gentleman as a challenging but enjoyable roguelite platformer shooter that blends Cuphead's difficulty with Binding of Isaac's build variety, with particular appreciation for the cooperative mode and diverse enemy encounters. Common criticisms include poorly designed controls that lack rebinding options, an uninspired soundtrack including a copied Tetris theme, and occasional balance issues with certain enemy types being overpowered, though these flaws don't entirely overshadow the fun core experience.
With all due respect but this game IS NOT for gentleman.
20 found this helpful

hard but enjoyable. would've liked the option to rebind my keys, but it's aight👍🏿
"Adventuring Gentleman" is a 2D platform shooter with a roguelite twist, boasting a variety of enemies and original graphics. While these aspects add some charm and interest, the game struggles in several critical areas that significantly hamper the overall experience. The game offers a diverse range of enemies, each bringing unique challenges. This variety helps to keep the gameplay somewhat engaging. Additionally, the visual style of "Adventuring Gentleman" is distinct and appealing, contributing to the game's unique atmosphere. However, the audio experience is a major drawback. The introductory music is a blatant copy from Tetris, and the rest of the soundtrack is a chaotic mix of instruments that fail to enhance the gaming experience. The control scheme is poorly designed. With only two main actions—jump and shoot—it is astounding that the default setup is so uncomfortable. On a PlayStation controller, shoot is mapped to X and jump to O, an arrangement that quickly becomes painful to use. Although there are alternate presets, none of them offer a satisfactory solution. The character movement feels overly floaty, lacking precision. Additionally, the game provides insuff…
Fun game :)
This game reminds me of cuphead mixed with binding of isaac. Very simple, only 3 controls: move jump and shoot/charge/select Game is a challenge, but you can get the hang of it quickly. Very very fun in 2player coop although it makes the game way easier I imagine. The second player doesnt get upgrades but is pretty overpowered by themselves, and upgrade over time instead of per perk. Pros: ++Like isaac: You get perks and combine them to make a build that can be pretty busted. After every clear of a "quest"/dungeon, you unlock a permanant perk for the rest of your runs. ++Like Cuphead: Unforgiving platformer shoot um up. ++Varied gameplay and challenge is fun ++Coop is great Cons: --The controls could use a bit more polish --Some enemies seem too strong (the green gunman are WAY stronger than the green machine gunman by a huge portion, the tri-shot robot gentleman are far stronger than most enemies in the game in general, the robot sawblade lady that also shoots bullets every attack is just a dps check because she is super busted lol) --Gameplay is exclusively shootumup, no side content or minigames to even out the repetitive gameplay. --Game would be impossible without coop lo…
