I found Plateman to be quite enjoyable. It took me a bit to get the movement stuff down but once I understood it running around and exploring is really entertaining. Fighting and looting enemies feels pretty good and you can use your enemies to get up to some hard to reach places. Stumbling into a boss fight was certainly enjoyable. Something that might need a little work is the translation. I did notice some errors in it but, in my opinion, it's not a big deal. [strike] One thing that is a problem. For those of us playing in English, the upgrade screen for your spirits has not been converted to English. I had no way of knowing what each one was until after upgrading. The item you get in your inventory is in English so you can learn what it is after you've already gotten it. [/strike] This was fixed. Another positive reason to give it a go. I recommend giving Plateman a try.4 found this helpful
This game is very odd. I was initially intrigued by it because of the design and gameplay elements despite its weird name, but I finished the game feeling perplexed. For what it's worth, I was able to finish this game in one sitting (5.5 hours of game time). There were some genuinely fun and interesting parts of the game. The combat takes getting used to, but does get nifty timing your attacks and zipping around after a hit to start a combo. The exploration is pretty good, although the controls can feel clunky at times. I did enjoy the few music tracks in the game and thought they improved the atmosphere. The mediocre parts of the game I would say are the translation. It's quite janky, and because of it, it makes the story somewhat hard to follow. I think the game needed some more time to cook since it felt a little half-baked, lacking polish, as well as closure to the story after finishing the game. Maybe it leaves room for a sequel, but I wish there was just a bit more so I could get the bigger picture overall. The UI elements feel lackluster as well, and a lot of times you're left guessing what something does, especially when crafting. A weird bug / maybe feature I had was th…2 found this helpful
Plateman hits right at my favorite game genre: 2D platformers with exploration, skill trees, and a great steampunk atmosphere. I don't want to post any spoilers, but the story looks great so far, and I can't wait to see how everything unfolds. Big ups to the developer and keep up the good work! <31 found this helpful
Just started the game but it's pretty fun so far. Presentation is nice, and the combat and movement mechanics feel good, although there is a learning curve to them. The translation could use some work but you can still understand everything in the story thus far. Runs decent on my Legion Go too. I didn't see any graphics settings to change though. I'll update my review when I get further but wanted to give the dev some positive visibility.1 found this helpful
