Al Emmo's Postcards from Anozira offers a nostalgic dive into the Wild West through hidden object gameplay. While it captures the charm of its predecessor, Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine, it doesn't quite match its predecessor's depth and engagement. The hidden object scenes, though numerous, can feel repetitive, and the puzzles lack the challenge that some players might desire. Additionally, the game's stylistic inconsistencies and low-resolution objects can detract from the overall experience. However, for fans of the original game or those seeking a casual hidden object game with a Western theme, it may still offer some enjoyment. It's advisable to try the demo or wait for a sale before committing.

Decent game; I enjoyed my time with it, even though the resolution's a little low

Low-res graphics, dull puzzles, and inconsistent item appearances. Frustrating pixel hunting and unclear visuals make gameplay tedious.

While not the best HOG, it has it's unique sense of play which makes it fun. First off, this game has low resolution (it is older) and may be better played on a smaller screen. It is plagued with some of the downfalls of older HOG: unclear images, poor hitboxes on some images, and bad clipped artwork. So it is not a perfect game in any sense. However the play style of the game is fun, It is an "action" HOG as it is not based around the common item finding/using story HOG's, but rather 29 scenes where the goal is to get the highest score (against yourself, no leaderboards) by finding items quickly (there is a time limit). There is a story which is told through voiced postcard descriptions written by the five playable characters for the game. You have to play through the game 5 times to get all the stories as seen by each character and each has a unique personality for a bit of flavor. In between each HOG is a rotation of a jigsaw puzzle, slider puzzle, scrambled picture puzzle, ring puzzle, and spot-the-difference puzzles to unlock the next postcard. Thankfully this game has hint tokens, extra time tokens and skip tokens for the in-between puzzles, and you find more i…
