About An Everyday Story

An Everyday Story is a story-driven puzzle platformer with a heartfelt twist. A man holds dear three little trinkets, each representing his bond with a loved one... play as a Tin Soldier, a Bat Origami and a Wooden Boat through an adventure to regain lost memories.

What do you think happens when our dreams become so real to stain our reality?

Experience the melancholy of life, needings and wishes, forgiveness, memories, nostalgia, and unravel the backstory of the main protagonist's family.

Become agile and swift as the Bat Origami and use the tin soldier's unique equipment to navigate dangerous environments

As humans travel throughout their lives, so do their trinkets! Explore multiple locations scattered across the globe, each filled by platforming action.

Use your cunning to resolve puzzles with the mighty wooden boat

Resolve environmental puzzles and use your strengths to overcome everyday obstacles, or ram through them, you have the power...

Size matters!

... but be careful! Being tiny is a double-edged sword: you can slip through narrow passages and avoid most dangers... but you are also very delicate, and anything can stomp you at any time!

A new reality

Are you ready to delve into your deepest nightmares? Sometimes, memories and fears can manifest in, let's say, very colourful and dangerous ways.
A beautifully presented puzzle platformer with some imaginative scenes and an emotional story, but quite a lot of bugs are still present.
I enjoyed playing An Everyday Story . It is wonderfully presented with a story book feel, narrated by the father in the family relationship. The story has nine chapters spanning his life with his wife and son and depicts the highs and lows in their relationship. The game lasts around four to five hours. We play three characters in the story that represent a special bond in the father's life. A tin soldier that his father made for him; A wooden boat that he made for his wife; and an origami bat that he made for his son. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3349930362 The three items are used in platforming levels to help represent their origins and why they mean so much to the relevant recipient and it was really nice to hear their backstories. It made those items appear lifelike and gave them a sentimental attachment. Each item also has their own attributes that single them out from the others. The tin soldier can fire projectiles, jump, has a grappling hook it can swing on, and floats in the air using a …

I really enjoyed the demo and was excited for the full release. The early parts of the game were fun and had a lot of promise. Unfortunately, once I reached the Love chapter, I hit a game-breaking bug during the carousel section. Every time I got to that part, my tugboat would glitch and start flying and floating all over the screen, landing in spots where I couldn’t move or progress. I tried everything—restarting from the last checkpoint, restarting the game, verifying the game files—but nothing fixed it. It was frustrating and disappointing, especially after investing enough time that I couldn’t refund it. There is just no way I can recommend the game in its current state.

It's a very charming game. It tells a familiar and down to earth story, and it does so really well. The game conveys a great sense of adventure, even though you just control toys moving in mundane locations. In other words: great direction! The narrator does a very good job and has a beautiful voice. The game lasts 2-3 hours, which is probably the correct duration. The game is pretty consistent with its art-style and direction, and serves the narration well. Proportions are a bit weird sometimes (the relative size of the avatars and the environment is not consistent). It can be justified by the oniric undertones of the game, but still. In conclusion. If you like games with a strong narrative, and intimate stories, you should this game a try.

I still have to finish the game, but so far I love it. The puzzles are cool without being stressful, each environment is unique in its own way and the music is fantastic, probably the best part.

[ENG] This is one of those games that you'll love even by non fans of the genre. The story is very accurate, the mechanics and puzzles within the game are unique, and the music and setting create a very nice experience. I am very satisfied with this purchase and strongly recommend it to everyone, hard to regret it.
