About Apolune
Apolune is a minimalist, endless procedural evolutionary space war. Enjoy fighting wave after wave of enemy starships in a classic "2D" simulation that evolves and mutates as you fight on, victorious. Defend the Earth from hordes of vile aliens in your simple craft: point-and-shoot.
Fight while orbiting far away stars, dark rogue planets, bizarre alien worlds and deep interstellar objects. Contemplate your place in the endless galaxy.
Compare previous session statistics with your current standing. Achieve milestones and upload to Steam databank. Test your might against the world!

Two-Player Co-op Two Ways!
1) Local co-op can be achieved by sharing the hot-seat: one person is the navigator (left side of keyboard), the other is the gunner (right side of keyboard) in the same ship.
2) Hit "Y" or "U" to activate second player controls: F T G H I K J L (Turn) Y U (Shoot)
*** Use the Steam launch menu option "Show Manual" to learn about the "true" Two Player option that allows you to map a controller to control the Astronaut in a one-of-a-kind second player tethered experience on a shared screen (local hot seat / co-op). Additionally, you can learn about advanced "Launch Options" like resolution support, and more!

Apolune is an oldskool rogue-like space shmup. Starting off slowly your ship gradually increases speed over time. Great fun and takes me back to the days of my fave arcade machines.8 found this helpful

Apolune is yet another of literally hundreds of lazy amateur 2D retro top-down "Asteroids/SpaceWar!" ripoff arcade shooters infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one is particularly badly made with a slew of technical defects and shortcomings. The only notable differences is that the developer didn't seem to be bothered with doing any level design (that requires effort) so went for endless samey procgen algorithms instead of creating content... so the game is also empty of any content compelling for gamers. Let's get into the long list of defects. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. One of the important quality checks for any video game is the audio. The bare minimum of audio controls must be there, so the experience can be tailored. The audio and music must be of high quality. Bizarrely…2 found this helpful
[h1] DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review [/h1] Apolune is a game developed and published by Lost Astronaut Studios The game offers some nice graphics and a nice yet simplistic aesthetic which is pleasant all the same and has some amazing attention to detail even though it is a little rough around the edges The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nonetheless and ends just at the right time Apolune overall, however, is a fun game to play, yet sometimes repetitive and it does get boring if being played for a long time, but is a good casual game to play in short bursts! S L O W ... B O R I N G - NO POINTS ... Did I mention SLOW? yeah really slow .. Unenjoyable .. A Waste of time and $$ . Even if it were 1982 this game would be terrible.1 found this helpful
It's a very basic little game. Had a fun 10 minutes playing. Controls are simple but movement is a little slow for my liking although I feel things could ramp up as the game progresses. I feel that in the last few years so much better can no be made by using Shoot Em Up Creator. Check out this game by Tarkus1971 tarkus1971.itch.io/vector-byte
