Deep Space Shooter is a very run of the mill console (Switch) ported 2D retro pixel vertical scrolling shoot 'em up that looks like it was copy + pasted from a basic template from Yoyogames for the craptastic GameMaker Studio blight on gaming construction kit. The only differentiator here is that you're locked into 5 lanes horizontally (but you're free to move up and down as much as you want, not that that makes a difference). This is a very bland, very poorly done shoot 'em up with no real merit or value for serious PC gamers, and compares poorly to older shoot 'em ups like Galaga, which you can play for free. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no gua…

From the moment the game begins, it is clear that its ambitions are rooted in simplicity and mechanical focus rather than cinematic storytelling or elaborate progression systems. The premise is straightforward: a lone spacecraft answers a distress signal deep in hostile territory, only to be met with relentless waves of enemy ships and imposing bosses. There is no lengthy exposition or narrative buildup—just immediate, fast-paced action that demands attention and precision. The gameplay adheres closely to the classic vertical scrolling formula. Your ship advances upward automatically while enemies swarm from the top, sides, and occasionally behind. Early levels ease players into the rhythm of movement and shooting, introducing basic enemy formations and manageable projectile patterns. However, as the stages progress, the intensity escalates. Attack patterns grow denser, enemy formations become more coordinated, and the margin for error narrows. Surviving later levels requires not only sharp refle…
