ASTRO ACE is a retro-style addictive arcade space shooter.
From the distant universe, an evil alien fleet is invading the solar system.
You will have to ride a powerful spaceship and fight against endless waves of enemies.
• You have to battle an endless wave of enemies in a universe surrounded by radiation walls. You can use the boost, brake, and left and right turns to avoid attacking enemies or aim behind them.
• There are more than 10 types of weapons: cannon, laser, plasma, and missile, etc. Eliminate enemies with your own way. Don't forget to replenish your ammo and energy to destroy more enemy ships and survive longer.
• When you shoot down 5 Elite ships of the enemy, you can get powerful Wingman support for 15 seconds.
• Make your ship more powerful through various power-ups and prepare for extreme boss battles.
• Level up to use the weapon you want from the start or unlock new ships and equipment for your support.
• Get a higher score than the other aces and rank at the top of the leaderboard.
• Endless waves of a variety of enemies.
• Challenging boss stage battles.

So, imagine playing a space shooter, but it controls like only the head of "snake". Your ship only knows how to go forward, boost forward, and slow to like 20% speed. There's no stop, no turning on a dime, no reversing. Slowing takes energy, boosting takes energy. Energy regenerates slowly. There's ammo and energy drops to collect, powerups, etc. I haven't tried this with a controller yet, but it's pretty unplayable on keyboard. As in it's not fun, not that it isn't do-able. More specifically I have no desire to keep playing. It feels clunky and unresponsive. You play for a certain amount of time, survive, etc and you get bosses. You earn unlocks at every half, and full level. You earn XP based on time and score. There's a number of (steam) achievements to earn. For a $2.99 game its OKAY, it's just not fun. What holds the game back is the control scheme. If I wanted to play snake, I'd play snake. This is what happens if 360 snake control meets the game asteroids. I think a version of this with just the mouse would have been more fun. Not being able to maneuver, and the fact there's SO MANY enemies that one-shot you is just... Not fun. This game is Honestly something I been looking for! I played Asteroid on the commodore 64 and it was my all time fav game on it. This game really reminded me of that feel and yet had its own twists to it as well.
With degrees of difficulty with the mix of upgrades , this game brings back childhood memories. l recommend to anyone loved old fashion space invaders. Although with a twist. you are restricted in moved not like transfer to other side when move from top or the side of screen. Hope all you enjoy and thank you for opportunity to showcase the game.
