"Assignment 42" was a promising looking adventure puzzle game. It had a lot of potential so in this case it's a shame the developers abandoned it. The game has a few different kinds of puzzles and themes which is welcome... you get to control a robot and guide it to rescue people, which means solving various puzzles (colour matching, lightweight Node Red style programming etc)... I even think if they managed to finish this they could have made quite a bit of money off it. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 4 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low qualit…

so unbeliavably annoying to listen to the lady talk that I couldn't even bring myself to start the first level

Bad. It needs a LOT of polish. There is barely a game here at all - not just in the content, but the interface and mechanics. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I've seen Game-Jam games with more content and polish. Given the time frame that this has been in development, it is kind of shocking.

This note is purely for the developer and not really a review. I get to the point of the game where I am supposed to control the robot and (I assume) put out the fire. O.K. I have the screen where there are listed actions (1,move, 2.turn left, 3. turn right). O.K. I drag the move icon and set it to 2 steps. Then, I am done. It seems nothing else is possible. Obviously, I am missing something here but for the life of me I am unable to progress, very frustrating. I get the idea and the game looks really well done otherwise, but I am stuck. Is there a tutorial or guide that I missed? I really wish to dive into this game but right now I've kind of "idiot locked" myself out of it. I don't think this is a bug, I just think I am doing something wrong.
