About Algo Bot

Deep inside the Europa, a pan-galactic colonization ship, the sleeping crew dreams about their new life on the far side of the galaxy.
But there can be no rest for Algo Bot, a service droid working on the junk deck. When a routine recycling mission with cantankerous line manager PAL goes horribly wrong, crisis strikes at the very heart of the Europa.
Unless PAL and Algo Bot can restore the Europa's systems and recover the shipboard AI quickly, there'll be no waking up for anyone.
As the player, you will take the role of the operator and use a visual programming language to issue a sequence of commands to Algo Bot. Will you manage to solve all the puzzles?

What Steam players say

As a programming game it was going *okay*. The Linux native version, however, seems to have a bug where all the text stops working at level 2-5 (there's a discussion thread about it with many people experiencing the same problem). When I switched it to using Proton, it got a couple of levels further then started just freezing, and making my GPU very hot, sometimes freezing even almost immediately upon restart (while still just showing the developers' logo). It would have been a pretty weak recommend if it had worked perfectly, because the game was already proving to be a bit repetitive and not especially interesting, but combined with these bugs it's a hard not-recommend.4 found this helpful
Algo Bot is a logic-driven puzzle game developed by Fishing Cactus and published by Plug In Digital, released on Steam as a unique blend of programming simulation and narrative adventure. The game takes a distinctive approach to puzzle design by asking players to think like programmers rather than traditional gamers. Instead of controlling a character directly with reflex-based inputs, players construct sequences of commands that guide a small service robot through hazardous environments aboard a futuristic spaceship. This concept transforms programming logic into an interactive challenge, making the game both intellectually stimulating and surprisingly accessible to players who may have little or no experience with coding. The story takes place aboard the enormous colonization vessel Europa, a massive starship traveling across the galaxy with thousands of human passengers in cryogenic sleep. The ship relies heavily on automated systems to maintain life support, recycling operations, and general maintenance. When a malfunction occurs within the recycling system, the delicate balance of the ship’s infrastructure begins to collapse. To prevent disaster, the player is tasked with rem…3 found this helpful
Really fun and enjoyable. It’s simple, smooth, and entertaining, with great gameplay and good vibes all around. Addictive and satisfying, I keep coming back for more. Overall, a solid game that’s fun, relaxing, and has just the right amount of challenge.3 found this helpful

Algo Bot is the ultimate "I’m actually a genius—wait, no I’m not" simulator. It’s a brilliant puzzle game that tricks you into learning computer science logic by letting you play with a cute robot. Perfect for anyone who wants the thrill of programming without the six-figure salary or the free office snacks.
The goal of this puzzle game is simple: reach the exit and press buttons or transfer things/data along the way. Every stage has an optimal amount of instructions that you should aim for, but reaching that goal is not required to finish the level. The difficulty is hard to judge. Some levels are easy, some are hard, and on others, you can skip the game mechanics and use brute force. I'm happy about Polish being one of the available subtitle options and have only positive things to say about that. Got this game for cheap using a level-up coupon, and I'm positively surprised.
