Edit: All of the positives I've said about this game in this review pre-edit still stand. The dev has promptly added color modes and such after my review making the issue I had with it, now a non-issue. Been playing it to try it out and it's perfect. What a wonderful game! I love the double lane gimmick a lot, adds a fresh element to the VSRG style. Only seen it in a mobile rhythm game once, and wasn't sure if it'd work on PC. But it does it really well. With the colors making it easier for my eyes to distinguish between top and bottom notes, needing to press an additional button to switch lanes turned out to be really fun and not too hard to get the hang of after a few tries (as someone used to rhythm games ofc). The real challenge to this gimmick, imo, is the judgement line is sooner for the top than it is the bottom, which is where I've missed notes as a result because I'd hit too soon or too late. This is also where I initially mistakenly thought bottom notes rolled in when top was still going but it didn't cuz timing differences! It's very fun to try and get better at. Will definitely be playing more. A very well deserved, earned, positive recommendation now. Sidenote: I…1 found this helpful

I do feel a bit bad reviewing with so little time but there are very few songs so... I do believe this has potential, and I really look forward to that, Though there are very few songs, so I hope more come in the future. I also do wish there was a setting to make it so you could toggle lane change and not have to hold it. Edit: I've played some more so i'd like to add some things to this, while I do still recommend it there are some issues I have and some more things I like about it. I do like the fact that some of the charts use the quirk of how hold notes work on lane changes BUT I would like to point out that the UI punishes you for trying to see your timings which makes it really hard to get them right, especially since the Lanes are so long and it can feel a bit awkward compared to most other 4key rhythm games. The song selection is fine but It is somewhat sad that there isn't a proper ranking system to the charts, just "easy, hard, expert" and that feels a little weird considering it doesn't really tell you how hard each map is just a general difficulty. My final note should be taken with a grain of salt since I am playing on linux through steams Proton, however the loadi…
Music is great, and I like the Arcaea gimmick although it takes some time to get used to. The game controls feel responsive and accurate. Hit effects are clear and non-intrusive. Will love to see this project get more songs and updates in the future. Overall, 8/10!
