It's fun. But, a downside, for me as a Startrail player, at least, is the fact that it mainly has the same songs as Startrail has. The gameplay is different but as a result it really lowkey feels like the same game but with a different gameplay as as a result. Which also makes getting some of the current DLC not so appealing. I already bought the same packs for Startrail, so yeah. And, part of the appeal to a new rhythm game for me is the fact that it usually has songs other rhythm games might not. And there are some that don't exist in Startrail and if you're new to Sixtar there's even plenty of songs that you won't encounter in any other rhythm game, but they're unique to Sixtar, so to say. So not much new songs here for people who already play Startrail. Hope they'll add more songs unique to this game so it has more appeal to play. As it stands, I'd rather just play Startrail to enjoy the same songs, as that gameplay is more appealing and benefits me more too as playing VSRG and maintaining and developing that skill is applicable in much more other games I play as well.5 found this helpful
x-- 8/10 --x Good little rythem game.
It's a great casual game!
This game is a very interesting take on the four lane rhythm game. The lanes are split into the cardinal directions making a controller (or an unusual by rhythm standards keyboard layout) the intuitive choice and from what I've seen until now utilises this to great effect, using the fact that you are playing with two hands to make more interesting charting choices for songs. I definitely would recommend this game, it's already worth it in my opinion and it's probably only going to become better since future updates will almost definitely add extra songs and hopefully some common rhythm game features like rating or courses.
The 4 direction/lane game play is a novel idea, makes it difference and sometimes quite challenging to keep up. The difficulty of the songs are all over the place however - even when playing on the same (medium) difficulty they would range from rather slow and easy to crazy fast panic everything is missing.
The game offers a lot more story than I expected for a rhythm game, which adds to the fun of this game. It's very easy to pick up and play, and all dialogue can be skipped. The one thing I would change is the tambourine sound every time you push a key. It distracts from the actual rhythm of the game.
