BinaryBotsVR

BinaryBotsVR is a free VR experience for, i guess, children. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Basic low rez textures and low polygon models. The All the Planets in the space lobby start the same sequence with Binary looking for the Secret lab, Need an instruction in space saying point at a planet and press trigger. In the Secret lab, Binary and Dimm just keeps moving from room to room. There was nothing to really interact with in the secret lab. You can see everything from the Store page. In the Code Room there is a Webpage on the wall for the microbit dot org website. I guess this VR experience is for introducing kids and teachers to the https://microbit.org/ website in a hip VR way. "BinaryBotsVR" is some kind of VR... tech demo... or something? This is so badly made I suspect if you tried playing this for any reasonable amount of time you might suffer from some kind of VR inflicted brain trauma. The low poly graphics are just the start... janky animations, dementedly bad controls... this is truly a nightmare of epic proportions. The most amusing and entertaining part about this "game" is that someone thought it would be genuinely okay to publish this as a game on Steam. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Несмотря на то, что игра ориентирована на новичков, она предлагает достаточно сложных заданий, чтобы держать в тонусе и тех, кто уже знаком с основами робототехники. Прохождение кампании открывает новые детали и возможности, стимулируя к дальнейшему изучению. Единственным недостатком можно назвать некоторую ограниченность предлагаемых моделей роботов.
