OfficeBots: Reality Bytes [VR]

[u]I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers, game works fine. [/u] However, I cannot recommend it, even at the current sale price of $4.99. I thought this was an adventure/puzzle/escape room game. It's really just floating texts that tell you which object you need to fetch. That's the whole game. The graphics, the sounds, the story, and the gameplay are all dull. As you go from one fetch quest to the next, you keep asking yourself, is this all there is? Please tell me there's more than this. Nope, just like the office, this is mind-numbing and painful work of fetch quests. Except, unlike in real life, you aren't getting paid. Rating 3/10

This game will take around an hour or so to get through, but it's a fun experience to go through and immerse yourself into the lives of these Robot workers!

I like what this little game is trying to get across, its a very important message if not the most important message ! i salute a small vr team that tries to highlight some very important issues regarding most people`s life`s. Its more of a vr experience trying to encourage people to follow there dreams in life, and not get stuck in a job they hate. Life is simply to short. Its a good game

This endearing VR game provides a nice memorable experience. A Zen Soundtrack and cute graphics do well to present a chilled yet slightly oppressive atmosphere. The characters are well animated; with different gestures for each emotion; syncing well with the dialogue. As you complete quests for your 🤖 colleagues; you learn more about their (sometimes tragic) back stories and the mysterious office of robots. Slightly reminiscent of Paper's Please and the Stanley Parable there's some interesting messages in the seemingly mundane. The narrative has underlying themes of depression; following dreams vs. financial security; escapism and more.

OfficeBots is a cute little story-based escape room experience, where you meet a handful of robots working in an office. They all seem to wish they were somewhere else, following their dreams, except for the funny Databots who love just doing data entry! Haha. In the game, you do a bit of problem solving, helping out the robots, which results in learning more about their stories, while they also encourage you to try to escape the office. The music is great, and I enjoyed the atmosphere and writing. :) It's nice to find something a bit different in VR! I might come across as a bit biased since I know the developer, who I must say is really lovely but this really is a great game. It's short and sweet, and feels worth the prince now that it's under $10... or put it on your wishlist and grab it on sale some time!
