✦ AI summary

BlastZone 2 is a sidescrolling shooter that receives ongoing updates and offers decent gamepad controls with multiple ships and game modes for replayability, though players find the experience underwhelming due to frustratingly nimble small enemies with excessive health, static boss fights with repetitive bullet patterns, and bland presentation that lacks inspiration in both story and visual design.
Bad controls, bland graphics, feels uninspired.
Sidescrolling shoot 'em up that keeps getting updated and polished even 10 years after release. BlastZone 2 controlled well enough with gamepad, including d-pad. I liked the design of the enemy ships very much although they were licenced from a 3rd party website (at least it was awknowledged and not AI generated). Some small ships seemed like bullet sponges and moved way too fast. Not only way more nimble than me, but I had trouble getting a bead on them or avoiding them when they came in a wave. On the other hand, all but the first big boss were static and their attacks were only patterns of red bullets, which was disappointing. The "cinematic" campaign was one boring paragraph of text at the start of each area. Several ships and game modes for replayability, even the first Blastzone was included. I liked the effect when enemies moved from the back of the screen to the front although often I thought they could be shot when they could not. Way too expensive at regular price. Should have been 5 bucks maximum. Recommended but on deep sale.

So bad

An underwhelming shooter with erratic enemies. While controls are decent, tedious hit points and poor design make it overall unworthy.
