Originally released in 2005, Boiling Point: Road to Hell is back. Revisit this early pioneer in the open-world roleplaying FPS genre. Upon finding out his daughter has been kidnapped in the pseudo-South American country of Realia, Saul Myers, a veteran of the French Foreign Legion, must head to Realia on a rescue mission. Saul must navigate through the Realian Valley; a region full of tropical jungles, farms, villages, and estates. Saul now has to manage to make his way through the landscape while navigating through dicey situations with corrupt politicians and criminal organizations to find his daughter’s whereabouts.
Manage your reputation. While there are no immediate enemies in the game, it is all in how you play. While the natural habitat of Realia can be dangerous, being home to snakes and large predators, there are six factions for Saul to try to satisfy. While these relationships begin neutral, completing missions can raise or lower your reputation with the Realian government, guerrillas, the mafia, native tribes, bandit groups, and even the CIA. But be careful, creating allies can lead to unrest and enemies elsewhere.

Good old game. In this game is no leftist-socialist propagand, like in many games released 20-26 year. Protagonist is Gigachad. This game needs a remaster. 8/109 found this helpful
This game is a technical nightmare, no matter how many patches you install the game will crash, your saves get corrupted, some missions will not work properly making them uncompletable. Yet, there are few games like this which are a mix of Far Cry + STALKER, that simple fact made Boiling Point as a cult classic. At most it can be a 7.5/10 game when it works, and it can be quite enjoyable, but right now its better to play the original CD version and install the official patches + unnoficial patches, because the new people who handled this new (2023) Steam version introduced more bugs and crashes.7 found this helpful
After messing around with the config files for a bit you get to experience a stable version of the game, although I definitely recommend installing the unofficial patch. To the game itself: It's a very ambitious open world FPS/RPG hybrid with a silly story, okay-ish gameplay and a lot of issues. HOWEVER, it has its own charm and if you stick to playing it, you will very soon learn to love it.2 found this helpful
the game is too buggy, i was playing and my quicksaves just decided to randomly delete themselves so i died and lost progress, i did a manual save before i exited but the manual save loaded into a previous manual save that i had hours before even tho i overwritten the manual save and i also couldn't make a second manual save or any other, it just didnt work, so i lost progress because of the game being too buggy and i dont want to play it anymore since i lost hours of progress2 found this helpful
Loved to play this back in the days. The atmosphere is so great in this game and no brainrotten woke indoctrination. Though steam version is rip off. Not even playable bigger than 1024x768 in windowed mode which is not an utter inacceptable state in 2026 when you're running a 55" 4k TV without USB extentions for mouse/keyboard and not even controller support was added for steam. Pretty bad business tactics in 2026 to not have a disclaimer for such incapabilities as this is not an exotic setup in 2026! Great example how steam is utter wild west because steam is apparently run by anti-authoritarian betas. Only way to explain steam being so weak in authority and setting boundaries. If you want to enjoy this game get an OG copy that probably is even cheaper than this trash version. Actually yeah.... back in like the mid-00s I paid just 1,99€ new for it,1 found this helpful
