BorderZone

BorderZone is an ancient game from 2006. It's a whopping 18 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware. This action RPG was rough around the edges when it launched almost two decades ago, and today, "rough around the edges" would be too much of a compliment that this doesn't deserve. It's a clunky mess. Fuzzy, awful graphics (even for 2006, when we also got RPGs like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and World of Warcraft!) and simplistic and unenjoyable gameplay round out this bargain bin filler. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. The graphics are dim and the controls feel like a relic from the 80s, yet occasionally I get a nostalgic thrill of being in a vintage adventure film, and I just can’t resist the chaos!

bugged for high fps PC

Bought this on sale and still feel like I got ripped off. No tutorial, no quest indicators so far as I could tell, your WALK is limited by your slowly regenerating stamina so you WILL just stop until it comes back. I didn't make it very far, but what I played was a mess of bad design decisions.
