About BRUTUS MAXIMUS
In this challenging horde survivor game, you play as BRUTUS MAXIMUS, an undead legionnaire in a foreign land.
From simple 'Increased Attack Speed' to devastating 'Spear Ground'.
From class specific 'ARROW STORM' of Sagittarius to Gladiator's 'HAMMER TIME'.
COMBINE THE MAIN WEAPON WITH AN OFFHAND ITEM.
Equipping second Gladius will open new attacks and weapon skills for Legionnarius.
Sagittarius can select from various quivers to use burst mode or penetrating arrows.
Fire damage triggers an explosion in enemies killed by a critical hit.
A poisonous critical kill spawns a short-lived poison cloud.
Lightning triggers a propagating lightning strike around the killed enemy.
Or use any universal items that provide additional benefits. Faster movement, Various Shields for more armor, larger collection radius.... (Offhand items can be freely swapped during run.)
- The Roman legions invade Germania, but their plan isn't going well.
- The Germanic Druid revives the strongest slain Legionnaire and gives him one task:
"Brutus, go to Rome, ask them what they mean by PAX ROMANA. Here's your weapon."
Embark from the northern forests of Germania, burn your way through Hispania.
Travel along the shores of Northern Africa until you reach Rome.

- Quick matches, each run is 20 minutes.
- 14 maps across The Empire.

Riddled with bugs. I spent 2 hours on this and I had crashes, soft locks, missing UI, game running in background and other issues - including one that crashed my GPU after slowing the game down to 4 fps. This is not a finished product, sorry. As a QA engineer I would not have signed off on this game just yet. I will be back in 6 months to enjoy my purchase.1 found this helpful
Cool idea. I like these types of games generally, but the combat feels clunky, slow, and just not fun. Nothing feels like it connects and slams anything, just constantly swinging through air even when you connect with 10 enemies.
Didn't play for a while, came back, and apparently the dev decided to "balance" bosses by capping how much damage they take per hit, and it's not.. a very high cap.. my regular attacks are doing 1/5 their normal damage against bosses so you know skills are entirely wasted, takes forever to kill and is just all around miserable, game was actually more fun 2-3 years ago

Fun
Very addictive game. Perfect for quick playing session, if you manage to keep it short. I easily lose track of time. Each run feels different as upgrades are random. When you're dealt good upgrades, it feels satisfying.
