About 勇者之灾 Calamity from the Yongzhe

This is a unique experimental RPG game built upon a fantastical imaginary worldview.

This work is created based on an imaginary worldview, where all characters, plots, locations, and events are purely fictional. Any coincidences are purely accidental.

At the core of this game lies an epic adventure story filled with both laughter and tears, narrating the roller-coaster experiences between the king who unified the world and the brave team that sets out to defeat the king. The entire game consists of ten chapters, cleverly incorporating numerous internet meme-inspired plots. Although limited production costs may result in some minor bugs, the game's overall unique style and rich gameplay are sure to offer players a distinctive gaming experience.

Detailed Introduction:

In the year 572 of the New Calendar, a human hero slew the Demon King.In the year 653 of the New Calendar, the Demon King resurrected, and the brave warriors and adventurers jointly defeated him, an event known as the "Calamity of the Demon King."In the year 673 of the New Calendar, the world was unified, marking the first time in recorded human history that such an achievement was made.Eventually, that adventurer became the king of all humanity. In the year 715 of the New Calendar, a young brave warrior emerged, embarking on a journey of destiny...In this world plagued by monsters and villains, players can assume the role of the king who unified the world, governing with authority and leading the people; or they can transform into members of the brave team set out to defeat the king, using their courage to defeat villains and help others. During the adventure, players will gradually uncover the hidden sorrows and truths behind this absurd world, ultimately facing the final boss and ushering in a happy and fulfilling ending.

The game features a wide variety of meticulously designed scenes.

ranging from bustling towns to eerie caves, from mysterious forests to treacherous mountains, each filled with exploration opportunities. Additionally, the game is equipped with a diverse range of special items and skills, allowing players to flexibly combine and utilize them according to different combat scenarios and enemy characteristics, formulating their own exclusive combat strategies.

The game boasts a rich and diverse array of gameplay mechanics and unique systems.

Among them, the item crafting system provides players with in-depth exploration and creative enjoyment. Players can collect various basic materials throughout the game world and, through careful research of crafting recipes, skillfully combine these materials to create powerful weapons, armor, and items with special effects. These self-made items not only play a crucial role in combat, helping players defeat formidable enemies, but also satisfy players' pursuit of personalized equipment, making each character unique.

In terms of combat, the game adopts a real-time turn-based combat mode that relies on speed bars.

In combat scenarios, each character and enemy possesses an independent speed bar, with the filling speed determined by the character's own speed attribute. When a speed bar is filled, the character can take action, with the order of actions arranged according to the completion sequence of the speed bars. This combat mode retains the strategic nature of turn-based combat, requiring players to carefully consider each move and plan skill releases and attack targets reasonably; at the same time, it incorporates the tension of real-time elements, with the dynamic changes of the speed bars constantly tugging at players' heartstrings, demanding quick decision-making at critical moments to grasp the rhythm of combat. Characters with high speed can attack more frequently, seizing the initiative in combat, while those with slow speed must rely on powerful skills or defensive abilities to turn the tide in limited action opportunities.

And the name of this tale is 'Calamity from the Yongzhe.'

In addition, the game may contain content that is uncomfortable for some, such as adult themes and graphic violence. Players are advised to choose to play the game with caution based on their own levels of acceptance.

The game is still under development and is completely free. Thank you all for playing.

Calamity from the Yongzhe is a strange little RPG, but I mean that in a good way. I went into it expecting a fairly normal fantasy adventure and instead got a story that keeps mixing serious moments with jokes, dark humour and internet meme style scenes. The whole thing takes place in a fictional world where the Demon King has already been defeated, the world has eventually been united and the former adventurer has become the king. Years later, another young hero sets out on a journey that ends up being much less straightforward than it first appears. I liked the idea of being able to see the story from different sides. The game lets me play as the king who unified the world as well as members of the brave team trying to overthrow him. That gives the story a little more weight because the conflict is not simply presented as good people fighting an obviously evil ruler. As I progress, the game slowly starts revealing the sadder parts behind the ridiculous world, and I think that contrast works quite well. The combat is turn based and has the familiar RPG Maker style that I would expect from a small indie RPG. I spend a lot of my time exploring, fighting enemies and progressing thr…
